Product Description

The TRIC case not only offers acoustic and semi-acoustic guitars unparalleled protection against the usual "bangs & bumps" in the everyday life of a musician, but also offers up high-tech protection from the elements.

High-Tech Impact Resistance
Made of Expanded Polypropylene, which is the same shock absorbent, high-tech material used by the automotive industry in bumper cores, it can also be found in the manufacturing of bicycle helmets. The high impact resistant material trusted to save the human head is now available for your acoustic guitar.

Heat, cold and moisture beware
TRIC stands for "Thermally Regulated Instrument Case." Drastic changes in climate and temperature can play havoc on an acoustic guitar and the TRIC case offers protection like never before against the elements. The TRIC case is temperature tested to -35C (-31F) and up to +65C (+150F), proving this case can withstand extreme conditions, all the while leaving your guitar sheltered and protected in its very own comfortable climate zone.

As Light as a Gig Bag
The Ultra-lightweight characteristic of the TRIC case makes it a breeze to carry, especially with its comfortable and durable easy-grip handle. It offers all the protection of a flight case at a fraction of the weight. As light as a gig bag, the TRIC case weighs in at just under 3.65 pds. To accentuate the ease of carrying this case it features pre-installed D-rings for a shoulder strap. Who would have thought! Carrying a guitar case over your shoulder¦ without the aches and pains!

Other features include
Hermetically sealed tongue and groove fitting, all the way around the case.
Durable and rugged nylon outer shell with easy-grip handle and shoulder straps, making "over the shoulder" transport a simple and lightweight reality!
Convenient interior storage compartment with durable flap and exterior storage pocket.
Arched deflector shield reinforces the top while leaving breathing room for the bridge.
Plush interior with moulded interior shell helps suspend and securly hold guitar in place.

I've got a love-hate thing going with this case. I bought it right before embarking on a six week tour of Spain, Italy, and France and it's held up quite well. It's also a perfect fit for my 1958 Hofner Senator. It's light, sturdy, and extremely well designed.

Where Godin gets low marks is on execution--the fabric cover was poorly sewn with lots of loose threads, uneven seams, and weird puckers on the corners. If I hadn't been in a hurry before departing for Europe, I would have exchanged the item for a better example of the same product. Bottom line, it's a great case if you're lucky enough to get one that's put together a bit more carefully.
Godin TRIC Montreal Premiere Guitar Case
.These cases are supposedly made from the type of foam like material used in bicyclist helmets. Great protection for Godin Montreal Premiere. Perfect fit. Very light. But, they are bulky. This increases the protection but adds to the size/thickness of the case. But between that, the good fit and the soft interior the guitar should be protected from a lot of abuse. The real downside is that the case closes by zipping up the outer covering. Like a hybrid hard case / gig bag. So, there is no way to lock the case. Then there is the outer cover itself which is nice but won't be as durable as a good, hard case. Godin does not offer a regular hard case for the Montreal Premiere, so, it's this, a gig bag, or trying to find an aftermarket brand that fits. One more thought. Considering that the Montreal Premiere is an expensive enough model in the Godin line, and that this case isn't all that expensive, they really should include it with the guitar.
