This bridge requires that you know how to build and install a cello bridge correctly (which most of us professional cello players do), or at least know someone who does -- that said, it is the absolute best pick up I have ever used (and I've had a lot of them over the years). The bridge itself is better than any bridge I've had up till now -- much thicker and sturdier than a typical cello bridge, but with a grinding wheel and a razor knife I was able to get the perfect thickness at the top and position the strings exactly where I like them for my playing style. My instrument responds better even when played unplugged -- and when it's plugged in the sound is crystal clear and very responsive -- but does not amplify the noise of the bow changes -- which was a problem I had with all the other pickups I've tried. The pick up is inside the bridge and it picks up the sound coming from the body of the cello -- instead of being hyper sensitive to the bow on the string.
