I can review this guitar with just five words UN-BE-LIEV-A-BLE. The fit and finish of this guitar are every bit as good as a Mexican Strat, and the neck and frets are better! The Surf Green finish is flawless. As soon as I received it,I already had my files out to get ready to dress the fret ends, like I have to do on a Mexican Strat, but I didn't even need to,they were perfect! The pups are a little bright, but you can always roll the tone off, easier to take it out than put it in. I was thinking of sanding off the Affinity and Squire decals from the headstock, but I'm going to keep them on because I want people to know how good these guitars are. The Chinese have guitar building down to a science. Yep, they beat us once again.

.What a beautiful color guitar. This makes a great gift for a budding guitarist friend of mine. Her favorite color is Purple.I have adjusted all the action and intonation as well as check the neck alignment before I present it to her. I do not want to let it go. I am sure updated pickups would make it sound like its American Standards Brother! The quality and sound as well as the way it plays is fantastic for the price. I would recommend this quality guitar to anyone, novice or professional.

.Installed a set of Dominger USA single coils, new pots switch fender neck plate jack brass block and fender saddles sanded off squire label with 800 grit new spaghetti label. Fresh strings and setup. Voila a 300 guitar with more tone and sustain than my stock american standard with the all rosewood neck. Affinity has really stepped up their game. This was the most inexpensive way to get a cool pink strat. Body was not plywood It was 3 pieces glued together. Also weighs more than my all rosewood neck american standard

.I've bought quite a few Affinity Strats, a Telecaster and a Musicmaster and although I have been pleased with them all, they have all had at least one fret that was either too low or too high. This guitar did not have this problem. Because of the light weight, I play these Affinities and almost never use my real Strats anymore.

.I bought my Affinity Strat in 2006 and I have always liked it. I am a big Eric Clapton fan so a SSS Stratocaster was a must for me. I was 17 and broke so the Squier was the most affordable option and I have gigged hard ever since with it but it has just kept on plugging. It's got good tone and plays fairly easily. The pickups are not as high output as many Fender vintage noiseless but if you want a guitar to put hotrod pickups and any other custom touches too...this one is affordable and perfect. Mine has NEVER disappointed me so if you want an affordable strat then look no further. Perfect first electric and gigging guitar for the seasoned player alike

.I've been playing Strats for going on 50 years. I play professionally and have them from U.S., Mexico and Japan. My wife gave me a Pink Affinity as a surprise birthday present as she noticed I liked the color when walking through a local store. She doesn't really understand quality differences etc. so I always tell her not to buy me guitars. But she went ahead and bought this without my knowing. For the money (under 200) you couldn't ask for anything more. Great neck, perfect intonation on the entire neck, light weight, well balanced, beautiful finish, bell like tone. And yes I would take it to a gig. It's not a 1000. guitar but the the people listening to it wouldn't know the difference. hats off to Fender and their Chinese partners.

.I've had bad experiences with squier in the past, but I'd like to say that this was not one of them. This guitar easily merits a price tag triple what it has. It's smooth to play, and has an amazing finish. I can bear the squier logo proudly.

For the cons:
Bad stock strings - They can be replaced easily so it's no big deal.
Poor factory intonation - Another simple fix, nothing worth skipping this for.
The little hole that you put the whammy bar into smells REALLY bad, so I don't recommend getting to close to it unless you hold your breath. Honestly though, if you find yourself in a situation where your nose is continually getting that close to the bridge, you might need to reconsider some life choices. Other than that, the thing is nearly flawless.

.I am a hobbyist and play mostly at home. I used to play in a band 20 years ago with a Korean knock-off telecaster modified with replacement pick-ups. After taking a break from playing guitar I recently got a couple of cheap humbucker guitars because I did not want to be bothered by any static noise of single coils. However, I missed the brighter, screaming, howling and twangy sound of single coils. I like the classic feel and look of the stratocaster and ended up picking the squier affinity because of the race red color. I was shocked when I unwrapped this guitar: The quality is great. It has a three-ply pickguard, good pots and the switch feels solid. It has plastic knobs which is standard for strat. Vintage tremolo feels solid. It played well right out of the box. Supposedly it has has slightly thinner and lighter body than standard strat that's a plus to me. I know people write about replacing pick-ups and hardware but unless you know what you are doing I would leave this as is. It sounds and plays great the way it is through my cheap multi-effect. The single coils are wired in a way that the static noise disappears when you use middle pick-up combined with either bridge or neck pick-up. This is a really great guitar all my other guitars ended up in their case stored away and I will probably get a second affinity for modifications.

.I bought one of these for myself in Sunburst. I was happy with it, though it will not work well with a Capo. This review is on the Blue model, and it is the 2nd one I bought. This time for my son, as his first electric guitar. I would give this guitar 5 stars, but clearly if you can not use a Capo on it? There something not right with the design. It plays fine with no Capo, in Standard E. It can take abuse. Over all this is a good Fender Product. It is just not the real deal if you want a serious Stratocaster.. Though it is a spot on replica with cheaper wood and parts.

.This was a very well built Squier, absolutely nothing on it to fix. I bought it in order to finally have a Fender based Shell Pink guitar, the color is good but not what old pics of shell pink had me expecting - I still wouldn't give it up though because it is a subtle pink that looks nice.
