This instrument has proven many times that it is the tuba to start your tubist on. It is good for both high school bands and orchestras. I have had two students of mine grow so much as musicians on this tuba, that they have even taken this tuba to state wind ensemble and state concert band! No tuba I've used in my school system compares to how well students development on this instrument. However the only downside to this instrument is of course its size.
