Inspired by the 1974 ‘Super Flighter’ guitar, the RS620 takes its design cues from a cult classic, combining them in perfect balance with the individual styling and custom-built vibe of the Revstar concept. Its roots definitely run deep, but this isn’t your dad’s guitar. Includes gig bag.
Pickups
Designed from the ground up, Revstar features specially wound YGD pickups that are perfectly matched to each guitar. More than 50 prototype pickups were tested featuring different combinations of wire, windings, magnets and base plates. Eventually, a spec was settled on for each guitar model and the Revstar pickup series was born. This model features VH5 pickups (8.3k (neck)/8.8k (bridge) DCR) with Alnico V magnets, German silver baseplate and heavy formvar wire for bright, powerful, balanced vintage/modern sound
Dry Switch
Designed especially for Revstar, 's proprietary Dry Switch gives you the versatility of a coil split, but with a tone that's miles ahead. Using a passive filter circuit painstakingly designed to give the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out low frequencies to give the punch and clarity of a single coil pickup minus the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbucking pickups. And because it's a filter circuit, the Dry Switch works on both humbuckers and P90s for a totally unique, usable tone.
Custom Hardware
Inspired by the stripped-down custom Café Racer motorbikes popularized on the streets of London in the 1960s, Revstar's hardware captures the high-performance, individual character of those bikes with a wide range of totally unique, customized hardware. From the unique pickup covers and raw copper scratchplate on the Revstar Professional, to the totally custom floating aluminum tailpiece on the RS502T, each and every component is perfectly calibrated for great performance and unmistakable style—capturing the very essence of a Café Racer.
Sound Image
Inspired by raw power and performance, Revstar's sound is as unique and bold as its aesthetic. Working to evoke a visceral, unbridled power and an individual, organic tone that is made possible only by considering every detail, 's engineers chose materials carefully and designed custom pickups to make sure Revstar sounds as stunning as it looks.

I ordered my RS620 from Custom Guitar's Friend as an open box discount, which put it in the same range as a 520. I was pleasantly surprised to find no open box issues, the only fault I could find was a tiny little dimple on the neck pick up cover. Arrived out of the box with a great set-up, yeah, that one in a hundred... Comes strung with D'Addario XL strings which are holding tune after a very short break-in. The tuning machines are first rate. The pickups suite my style. The Brick Burst finish is awesome. The tone and sustain is noteworthy. But the neck is from another realm, simply sublime! I can't say enough about this neck, from the profile to the feel, to the slick as eel snot finish. After years of mid level value guitars, mostly Epiphone LP variants, I took a chance on a next level (for me) guitar, and feel great about this purchase. Playing Epi LP's for the majority of my playing, the RS620 was not a big disruption, and didn't require much adaptation on my part, other than switches and pots.... I'm playing it through a Bugera V22 head and a Laney 2X12 cab. I have also run it through my little Mojo Diamond and the Hotone cab, A couple of my Kustom combo amps (solid state) and even my Danelectro Honeytone. Loved the noise from all of them.
Yamaha Revstar RS620 Electric Guitar Brick Burst
.I really like this guitar. Quality is great, feel is great, sound is excellent, great sustain. Was able to adjust the action low enough for my taste with no problem. Only one thing bothered me, which may not bother others. The finish is really flat, not satin, but flat. So every time you touch it, you can see it as a shinier spot. You can never get it back to where it originally was. So I just waxed it. Made it look like satin, but now there's no problem keeping the finish looking good.
