This guitar plays and sounds great. This is my first nylon string and after reading all the reviews, this seemed to be the best choice. I'm sure the more expensive models may have more detail and wood selection but this guitar is constructed very well. Custom Guitars Friend has great customer service since my first shipment was damaged but that wasn't there fault. They sent me the return labels pre paid and discounted the price for the hassle. I'm happy with the CG 142C.

.I know this is going to be a nice instrument but when I received it there were no signs of damage during shipping but the guitar top was busted below the bridge. I did tune it to play it after I spoke with Elliot in customer service. I promptly received my return label and am now waiting for my CG142 Cedar top that is backordered. Props to Elliot who was great to deal with.

I bought the guitar because it was a and I could do pull-offs easily on E1, and I've kept the guitar for these reasons. However, the neck is horrible. It is stained, not lacquered, and becomes sticky quickly. Your fingers stick to the neck and the strings. I took it back to the shop, and I was told that this was normal for this type of finish, and I was sold a cleaning and polishing solution. The sticky neck makes the guitar hard to play. The neck feels too wide as well, and its edges are sharp and cut into my hand. The sound of the guitar is OK. It has no bass and the G string sounds wrong (I've tried different strings). The guitar doesn't resonate well, and you have to hammer hard to get any nose. My guitar instructor does not like this guitar.
