I bought this because my main snare drum stand wouldn't go low enough for my 10x6 popcorn snare. This stand goes even lower than I needed, it works very well, and is reasonably priced. Definitely a stand I'll use for quite some time. Go !

.While being labeled lightweight, this stand is still quite solid. I'm using it with a 10x6 snare, and it supports it perfectly. Highly recommend...
Yamaha Single-Braced Lightweight Snare Stand
.Original stand was on backorder, so I called MF and they recommended this stand. The stand was for a 12" & my snare is a 14".

.I am amazed by the quality. I am happy I had purchased this snare stand. I have an Alesis DM10 Studio and it hold my 10" snare drum perfect. Thank you Music friends for an amazing purchase experience. Simply the best.
Yamaha Single-Braced Lightweight Snare Stand
.I have a Donohoe virgin bass drum (no holes), and was mounting my 10" X 8" tom off of a cymbal stand, which was a real pain to get correct. In addition, if the stand wasn't placed "just so", it could tip. Also, if you moved the cymbal stand, the tom was moved as well. That was a horrible set-up! This smaller stand works like a charm. It's easy to adjust, holds my tom very securely, and is high-quality --plus, it coordinates perfectly with my cymbal stands. I love it. Also, no rattles or vibration, which is super-important in the studio. A GREAT product at a very reasonable price.
Yamaha Single-Braced Lightweight Snare Stand
.I use mine to hold a 12" rack tom..I like the light weight for sure.
Yamaha Single-Braced Lightweight Snare Stand
.The SS-662 was suggested to me by another drummer a good while back, primarily to be used as a stand for the TP-80 e-snare, because the snare is very unstable, with the pansy bracket sends with the DTX 562K e-kit.
It's actually considered an e-snare stand, but it just happens to have other uses as well.
It has worked perfectly for me, because the snare doesn't fall down, like it does with just the bracket.

So, if any of you buy this stand, thinking it's too small for your snare, then you are just not aware that it's a specialty stand, because a 14" snare stand, it will never be.

I'm primarily a guitarist who does a lot of living-room acoustic jams with friends. Thought I'd branch out a bit and try playing some percussion, and wanted a small, portable rig. I got this stand to go with a 10" custom stage birch snare. Couldn't be happier with the combination. The stand is compact, sturdy, and economical. I know that bills it as lightweight, but it seems plenty strong to me. No compromises on quality. A friend of mine who is a long-time percussionist and drummer was quite impressed with the quality of both this stand and the snare.

The only improvement I'd suggest would be to add memory locks. But I'm quite happy with it as is.
Yamaha Single-Braced Lightweight Snare Stand
. hardware is always high quality and this is no exception. Works smoothly and the build quality is the usual excellence. Made especially for your 10" or 12" snare. Will not accept larger. Very happy.
