doesn't tell you this but you have to be careful not to torque the top screw after attaching the drum. It will strip the screws holding the clamp together if you tighten too much. It does however hold well if you secure it carefully. This is why I had to buy this. I stripped one and another is beginning to strip.

.I used this to change to 1 tom up 2 down drum setup. It worked well with 3 hole receiver on bass drum for the up tom.It would help if there was an even longer version to offset the tom a little more off the bass.

. needs to fix this problem. I am on my 3rd one. If used for 16" floor tom, forget it. It will strip out because screws are harder metal than the soft metal used for ball clamp. They could at least have used softer screws so the screw would strip and you could replace screw. Weight of tom this size is too big for this flimsy apparatus When behind drumset do not accidentally push down on tom or it will strip even faster. My 16" floor tom is sitting on the floor this very moment because I need to find an alternative. I'm tired of buying them. Very disappointed but I do love my Absolute Custom Birch yamahas but this piece of hardware needs to be improved especially if you are gonna strap such an expensive drum to it. Have to admit though, it is a clever way to make more money.
