Product Description

's NTX900 Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar easily accommodates a wide range of musical and playing styles and offers the perfect place to start exploring your music and nylon string sound. The versatile, contemporary styled NTX line is designed with thinner bodies, narrower necks, 14th fret neck joints, and cutaway designs to provide greater comfort and playability for today's steel-string acoustic and electric players. These instruments are perfect for adding nylon string tone to a wide range of musical styles from latin to jazz, pop to rock. Built on the thinline platform, the classical guitar features a cutaway, for comfort when playing in the higher register fret positions.

This NTX starts with a solid Engelmann spruce top, for warm, balanced tone. The neck features nato, a softer wood, while the back and sides are flamed maple, giving a beautiful and wavy veneer. Also known as "curly maple", flamed maple is prized for its bright, stunning appearance. Hard and strong, it is often used for necks on electric guitars. When used for backs and sides it produces a crisp, clear, less resonant tone that cut through well making it great for lead playing.

The NTX900 acoustic electric guitar also features the A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), an original wood reforming technology developed by . Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years. In NX Series guitars, this treatment results in a sound close to that of a vintage guitar that has been played for years. It produces a sharper tone while simultaneously controlling dissonance in the high range. Instruments that have undergone this process have received high marks from a great number of musicians. Their evaluations are nearly identical to those for guitars that have been played for years, and their comments often include terms such as "well settled," "mature," "warm," "excellent resonance," and "clear."

's ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) pickup system is purpose designed to offer the most natural, dynamic and expressive electro-acoustic sound on the market. Proprietary multi-layer contact sensors perfectly combine ultra-wide dynamic range with outstanding feedback rejection for the most accurate and natural performance sound. The NTX900 uses a 2-way system with contact pickups mounted on the treble and bass sides of the guitar bridge. To reduce unwanted feedback caused by vibration the NX Series contact pickup uses an additional multilayer damper to ensure the tone is captured in its purest form. Complementing the warm, full mid-range of the nylon-string tone, the System 61 preamp allows individual volume control over the treble and bass side pickups, allowing you to get the perfect blend for your style. The System 61 preamp also features a 3-band EQ for sound shaping and an on-board tuner.

Dressed in a natural finish, this acoustic electric guitar will turn heads and ears with its construction, beauty and sound. And thanks to the pickup system, amplification is a cinch. Case sold separately.

By itself or plugged into a 40w Acoustic amp, this guitar sounds simply incredible. And the onboard eq allows one to finesse the perfect mix for every song. I've played guitar for over 40 years and I've never loved an instrument so instantly or so completely as I love this NTX900. My only regret is that I can't seem to find an American-made acoustic guitar of this quality for this price.

.This is the updated Nylon APX guitar now re badged as the NTX series. I think it is an improvement on the old style; more volume and a better nylon/classical/crossover feel to my mind.
I have been a fan of the APX series since they brought out the original APX 20 which I still play as my main axe.
Great neck and string spacing, very good for finger work and strumming; no problems at all.
Tried out various strings and decided on the Tomastick CF 128 strings. These are flat wound chrome tape nylons with a wound third string and replaced the B and E top strings with the Galli Carbon trebles. These work extremely well in an amplified and acoustic setting. Can get a very low buzz free action. Good firm tension and flawless string to string tone and transition.
Good tone adjustment. The guitar allows for both independant Bass and Treble configuration as well as an over all balance and tonal adjustment. In all a very good guitar regardless of price comparison with other makes.

.I played this guitar several times in my local music shop and i will be buying it as soon as i can. it sounds great. great tone and playability i also played a $2700 taylor next to this and this was the better sounding/playing guitar. an outstanding value for this kind of quality.

.I knew this was a great guitar the minute I took it out of the box! I would consider myself as an "intermediate" level guitarist. I am trying to progress in my fingerstle playing. I didn't want to modify my expensive classical guitar but I missed the nylon sound and feel. So I tried this guitar and I love it! Perfect for someone on a budget. This is not a classical guitar, but it is a perfect middle between a classical and steel string guitar. Great quality for the money.

.This guitar exceeded all my expectations. Some of my students had s and I was always impressed with their quality, even on their entry-level guitars.
It came perfectly set up and with quality strings. The built in tuner is a breeze and it stays in tune very well. Volume unplugged is as good as my standard classical. And now for the TONE: best tone I have ever heard -- makes me sound a lot better than I deserve!!
The finish is flawless and beautiful - especially the back with the flamed maple.
You can't go wrong with this beauty!!

.The two piece top was completely mismatched. Different colors one side was was much darker than the other. The setup was so bad I wouldn't even waste my time taking it to a tech to look at it. I own other instruments so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
Yamaha NTX900FM Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar Flamed Maple
.Great sounding acoustically and even better sounding electronics. I just play for my own enjoyment.
