What a great bass for the price. The basswood makes it light weight. There is no neck drop, well balanced. Neck is fast and perfect. Easy to play the higher 12 through 16 frets. Really nice tones from the pickups. The best part it doesn't take a battery. Nothing bums me out more than to play an active bass and the battery goes dead. I've always played a Fender bass, and I've been through a lot of them, but this just changed that forever. This is one great bass for the price.

.I don't need a bass guitar! I play guitar and have never needed a bass - but I've always wanted one! I haven't been able to justify to myself the cost of an instrument I don't need. When I saw the price of this one, from a brand I already trust (my favorite classical guitar is a ) I had to splurge. Right decision! The sound is terrific, the neck narrow enough to make playing jazz easy, and it still has a full-bodied enough sound for rock. I had imagined that I would replace the pickups and strings first thing but there was no need. This instrument is everything I need to satisfy the itch to play around on a bass and I'm considering finding an excuse to play it in performance too.

.I've had two very similar basses (RBX270 and RBX170) and loved them both. The light weight and nimble action make them my favorite basses to play, by far. And I say this after having played much more expensive instruments (vintage and modern Fenders, Music Man, etc.).
The RBX body style is really comfortable to play when standing. That long upper horn balances the small body perfectly, in my opinion. Sometimes, when sitting, I wish the littler horn were a bit gentler, but it's a small annoyance given how comfortable it is overall.
I've had very good luck with how mine have been set up straight out of the box. Moderately high action with a little camber makes it REALLY fun to dig in for pentatonic noodling, especially on frets 5-9.
I've had my RBX170 for 8 years, and recently it was sounding a little noisy, so I replaced the pickups - and now it sounds even better. Only the most minor of complaints for an instrument I've gotten so much joy out of playing.

.Played guitar for quite a while, but this is my first attempt to learn bass. I bought it just to use with Rocksmith, and it works great for that. The bridge pickup has a bit of static, so I just turn it down.
