Product Description

The Seagull Maritime SWS Rosewood SG QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar offers the luxury of all solid wood construction with a select pressure-tested solid spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides.

The Maritime SWS RW SG QU also boasts a semi-gloss custom polished finish with a beautiful satin sheen. This finish provides excellent protection and at the same time is extremely light and elastic. This is a crucial point in both the sound of the Maritime guitar and its ability to age-a thick finish muffles a guitar's vibration and blocks aging.

Godin QI Electronics
The Godin EPM Quantum acoustic guitar system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source pickup system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy-to-use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

The Godin Q1 also includes a built-in high quality digital chromatic tuner with LED display.

Body style
Slightly smaller than a typical Dreadnought guitar, the Maritime SWS Rosewood SG Acoustic Guitar is narrower in the upper bout. This shape discourages unwanted boominess in the sound and is one of the factors that results in Seagulls being such excellent recording guitars.

Select Pressure Tested Solid Tops
A guitar produces sound as a result of the vibration of its strings. What's not so obvious is the role that the guitar top plays in amplifying these vibrations. In fact, the vibration of the top is the most important factor in a guitar's sound. Solid tonewood top guitars offer richer sound and wider dynamic range (they play better at both soft and loud volume levels).

The most interesting thing about a solid top guitar is that it will actually sound better over time. All Seagull guitars are made with select pressure-tested solid tops. Each solid top is made from a single layer of Spruce or Cedar and is pressure tested to ensure its highest level of rigidity and stiffness along with maximum harmonic vibration. The extraordinary wood used in Seagull guitars comes from trees that are hundreds of years old. The tight, straight grain in this wood produces a unique combination of strength and flexibility. The top is strong enough-in the direction of the grain-to withstand the pull of the strings, while at the same time it's flexible enough-across the grain-to vibrate freely.

The perfect neck angle
Neck angle has a tremendous effect on guitar tone. The Seagull re-design served as the impetus for several refinements to Godin's neck matching technology. Bodies and necks are now matched with incredible precision and the new compound curve in the top provides the additional stability necessary to achieve and maintain optimum neck pitch

The Tapered Headstock - Tuning Made Easy
Tuning can be a pain-in-the-neck (sorry). You may have wondered why it is that even after you have carefully tuned each string, it is often necessary to go back and make further adjustments on a few of the strings. This is because the neck moves slightly as you change the tension of the strings. Therefore you don't just tune the strings, you 'balance' the neck at the same time. The tapered headstock on Seagull guitars provides straight string pull, which minimizes the neck twisting effect. This insures that it will be easier to get your guitar in tune and keep it that way. This is particularly advantageous for the growing ranks of players who use open tunings. Case sold separately.

I've given this guitar a near perfect rating because I feel it is an excellent blend of features, materials, workmanship and artistry at an incredibly compelling price point.
Feature set is spot on with beautiful solid wood construction, simple but flexible electronics, quality tuning machines and well thought out design. This guitar has a sweet tone, with a very nice balance across low, mid and high ranges. The sound is full, but intimate. While played acoustically, if you are looking for the powerful low end drive that characterizes many dreadnoughts and overpowers the mid and high range, look elsewhere. But where it is somewhat lacking in raw power acoustically, it more than makes up for it with beautiful clarity and balance. When plugged in, it gives you a wider range of options as the simple controls give you a surprisingly varied range of sounds. Plugged in you have all the power and low end you could want.
Fit and Finish is gorgeous. Woods are beautiful. Construction is excellent. All in all a superior instrument at this pricerange. I've always been impressed with Seagull's consistency, but this instrument is a superior build. The action is excellent.
This is where I think this guitar is off the charts. I compared and played dozens of instruments, probably approaching 100 different guitars. This guitar plays and sounds equal to acoustics that are twice the money or more. It is an incredible value.

.The wood is matched very well and the semi gloss finish is flawless. The only obvious flaw that I can find is that a couple of the frets have a slight gap when viewed from the side. Probably due to the heat and humidity changes as it was shipped from Canada to Kansas City to Alaska. The built in tuner is very easy to use and allows you to put the guitar in tune in a matter of seconds. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great value in a solid wood guitar. This one's a keeper.
A beautiful solid wood guitar with an even tone. For the price this is an incredible instrument.
The fit and finish is excellent. A truly beautiful guitar. The action was way too high for my liking, but a little sanding of the saddle brought it down to a comfortable and easy playing height. The sound of the guitar is mellow with no tinny highs. The intonation is perfect even after lowering the saddle. I was a little concerned that the 1.8" nut width would take a while to get used to, but it actually feels just right to me.
It came down to the maritime or a solid epiphone for the same price. I didn't want "made in China" to appear on my guitar. Very happy with "Made in Canada".

.This guitar played great right out of the box. The wood is beautiful and I am looking forward to seeing how it sounds as the wood ages. In this price range I was hard pressed to find anything offering rosewood back and sides. I am not into guitars that are too flashy and the satin finish is just right in showing off the beauty of the wood without being at all ostentatious. The tuning keys are a nice touch as well. When reading the description I was concerned about the fact that it is a slightly smaller body dreadnought. The body is a little smaller than a standard dread especially in the upper bout but it certainly doesen't feel like you are holding a child size or guitar or sound like it either. The nut is 1.72" which apparently there is some confusion about that because I have seen it advertised as 1.8" like most other seagull's. I like to play a mixutre of fingerstyle and chords and It is very comfortable strumming and picking coming from an 1-11/16" nut guitar. I planned on playing this guitar in church but when I went there this sunday I realized that there wasn't enough signal to play without a direct box where my previous guitar had no issues. After using the di box the sound I got out of it was great. All in all a very happy customer.
Seagull Maritime SWS Rosewood SG QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural
.Truly a great guitar. A few American guitars sound marginally better, but are also three times the price. The "handmade in Canada" is a nice feature, mine even came with a form initialed by all the Canadians that put it together! I didn't realize that it was a smaller version guitar until I looked it up later, it looks like a dreadnought size guitar unless you're holding it right next to a full size guitar. The guitar feels perfect and sounds great, for 1k I can't imagine getting anything better.

.have had this guitar for about 5 years now. still love it.
Seagull Maritime SWS Rosewood SG QI Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural
.This one's hard to beat. Made in North America, solid wood top and sides and beautifully crafted. Pay literally three times as much or more and get nothing that this guitar doesn't deliver. This lives with my Chaylors and Gibsons and gets the most use. The neck is great and the nut width on this model is similar to the traditional nut width you are probably used to, 1.72", not the wider 1.80" on some other Seagull models. Sounds lovely and the electronics are absolutely top notch if you play out.
