Great bass for the price. If you have the money and a use for an 8-string-do it!
The EMG pickups are L-O-U-D!!! The satin hardware is pretty but for some reason I don't see it holding up well, cosmetically. The stock strings are garbage.
For a Korean-manufactured guitar, it's pretty good. Only a few minor cosmetic flaws that are easily overlooked. The woods used aren't exactly AAA, but decent. The setup was decent and I didn't have the string buzz some have complained about. Only a few tweaks and I was happy.
This price for 5-piece laminated neck through with mahogany and bubinga with satin gold hardware and EMG's? Oh yeah!

.As soon as I picked this Bass up I knew I could exspect only the best form it. The extra strings give it a cold melodic sound and the emg Hz also makes it sound Dark and powerful at the same time. Since it has picolose you would only need a lead guitar if you have a band. The bass pretty much plays the mediums of the rythm and the lows of the bass at the same time, but you wouldn't have to kick your rythm player out. This bass plays beutiful slow melodic runs and also killer metal lines. I wouldn't rickomed it for beginners becaouse it is pretty complex with the extra strings, but if your a pro and want to empress people with an unique guitar I would most diffently buy this devil.

.I received this Bass on 29 August, 2014 by UPS, and couldn't wait to open the box. I had read the
reviews that were posted and made a decision to
order it. Customer Service was FANTASTIC and answered my questions and concerns. It is a GREAT BASS for the price, I only wish that a case would've been included with the Bass-which I also ordered. The strings are set low (which I like on my guitars and basses.) I tuned it up, figured out the controls, and I've been up and running ever since. This bass gives the guitar player a great way for lead work. I highly recommend this bass for a seasoned player. I've got over 40+ yrs. of playing to include playing guitar. This is not a bass for a novice/or beginner. I have yet to be disappointed with Custom Guitars Friend. I also ordered an extra set of strings, Ernie Ball (Gold Strap-Locks.) Love this bass! Next, I want a Rickenbacker 4003 and I'll be done with my basses(?) Maybe even a Gibson Thunderbird, who knows. It's a very attractive bass and it makes heads turn!!!

.This bass is great from top to bottom. The finish is flawless and the sound is remarkable. The onboard eq is a great feature and makes the bass very versatile. the extra strings give the bass a very unique sound and a very melodic quality. My only qualms about the bass are that if you play with your fingers, the higher string are almost an after thought because they are above the lower bass strings. Also this bass had some fret buzz problems when i first got it and they were difficult to work out while keeping the action low. Overall though it is a wonderful bass and i would recommend it.
