Schecter's Hellraiser Extreme-5 electric bass guitar is a premium instrument made with top notch woods and electronics. This bass is truly a work of artistic craftsmanship.
The Hellraiser Extreme-5 has a multi-laminate maple and walnut neck. It's made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. It's often used for Thru neck construction, giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body. The ebony fingerboard has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of Maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than Maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long sustain.
Inside the Hellraiser Extreme-5 are both single and dual-coil EMG 40TW pickups, each with its own output. The single-coil mode is a new version of the J pickup built in the CS (ceramic and steel). The dual-coil mode is the popular CS dual-coil consisting of two coils opposite one another creating a pickup similar to model 40CS. A push/pull volume pot allows you to change from the clarity of a single-coil to the fatness of a dual-coil.
Grover Bass tuners top off this bad boy. The Grover ˜MINI" is lightweight, compact and durable for modern electric basses. Gear ratio is 20:1. Housing is specially machined to achieve the precise tolerance that prevents slippage and allows fine tuning. Sealed gear box has permanent lubrication that makes the MINI friction-free for life.

The Bass has everything I wanted. Tone-wise it is off the chart. Deep, well defined Low End all the way down the Low B, which is nice and tight. It packs beautiful highs as well. The EQ works great and give more tone shaping ability than most in much higher end basses. I like the push pull EMG's but they stay on Dual Coil most of the time. Still, what a powerful pickup. The bass has such a rich sound, that I feel like I can't do it justice. The sky is the limit for this thing. I feel like it can easily put to bed a lot of basses at twice the price. In the looks department, it has a sort of dark elegance that still impresses me everytime I open the case, 2 months after buying it. I fall more and more in love with this Bass. It shows me more and more evryday. Also, I had a question, and Schecter's support was great. I think if you play the Bass it will speak for itself. Anyone thinking of getting a Bass near this range, you may come to regret it if you don't look at this Bass. Nobody wants to realize the one they bought comes in second to one they didn't think about.

.This bass is just about perfect. I've owned it for 4 months so far and the only very minor complaint I have is that the lower frets are a little bit of a reach for me, but everything else makes up for it. The electronics on this thing are great. The 3 band EQ, and dual volume controls for each pickup with push/pull knobs to switch between single coil and humbucker allow me to get basically any sound I want. It stays in tune perfectly, all frets have zero buzz, and the sustain is great. Lastly, the thing is just plain gorgeous. I was the first person to order mine at the nearby music store and they are now ordering in more of these because they were so impressed with it. Bottom line, I highly reccommend this bass, and I will probably buy another one sometime in the future.

.Everything I wanted it to be. Wished I would have got a 5 string sooner. Neck seems wider but, you get used to it almost immediately. Super tones high and low. Very nice quality as I expected. My 1st Schector. Strings low no buzz out of box. Tuning keys are good so far time will tell. Stays in tune like a quality axe should. Very satisfied, getting used to extra string but coming along fast.....loving the LOW B. Not super high end but very nice for the money. Color is sweet, very nice looking bass....
stays in tune
