My 13-year-old chose this guitar and it looks really good on him. He plays in a band at the Academy of Rock Music in our local area and performs twice a year. He plays every day and loves this guitar.

.This is a fantastic instrument! I've had Fenders, Gibson's etc. and nothing compares to this. Out of the box it came set up and ready to go. The pups are active and they are right in between the strongest passive and EMG's. I was weary about the pups being to hot, as I tend to alternate between blues and metal but the bridge pup is excellent! Real bluesy stuff from King to Clapton to ACDC to Slipknot all at the change of your distortion settings. A must have!!!

.I own and have owned a bunch guitars worth $1200 and up. This guitar only lacks better tuners, quality of wood, and some neck finishing details compared to them. Although first rate fret work is done, the details are just done a little better on Music Man or American Fender. The cheaper basswood blanks just don't ring and resonant like Mahogany, Maple, or Alder. The maple veneer top is gorgeous. The active pick-ups rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The tone could be fuller and more resonant through the wood for cleaner tones but for metal its a dream. As a soloing instrument, its good as your amp is. At this price point, I don't know if you could by a nicer guitar. A 3 overall compared to all guitars at all price ranges and a 5+ at its price point. I got mine for a ridiculously cheap price. Made in Indonesia but set up with great skill in Los Angeles, California. Feels like a mass produced guitar but plays much much better. Thanks Custom Guitar's Friend

.I spent hours upon hours trying to find the right guitar to give to my brother for his birthday on a relatively small budget. We've both been playing for about 17 years, so we both know a thing or two about what makes good guitars. He told me he was looking for something that had 24 frets and was suitable for metal and that didn't have Floyd Rose. So I went to the local GC and played around with various shred machines from Ibanez, Jackson, and finally settled on this gem.
Its killer looks are only matched by how easy it is to play on this satin finished maple neck. The angled heel also contributes to its ease of playing. While it doesn't have name brand tuners, they felt and more importantly responded like many of the guitars I've had that came with Grover tuners. The frets were polished and felt great. The cross inlays only added to the overall sex appeal. The utterly crushing tones coming from those Duncan Design active pick-ups were a revelation. Even though the they are Korean made version of the Black Outs, they just seemed to shine with a character that would shame similar EMGs. Additionally, these pick-ups can be cleaned up to give you credible tones to cover classic rock and blues.
If my playing style called for something with active pick-ups, I would not hesitate to grab one of these models for myself. Heck, I almost kept the one I gave my brother for myself.

I'm a relatively experienced musician of about seven years, and this is my second guitar. My first was a Samick Greg Bennett, essentially a strat. This Schecter is a step above. Great electronics and hardware for a guitar at this price point. Its really versatile too, as I've played everything from Clapton to Slipknot on this baby without a hitch. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a quality budget guitar.

.I've owned this baby for a bit over a year now, so I've had plenty of time to understand its pros and cons. Last weekend, after 30 mins into a 4-hour gig I switched to my backup Demon 6 from my Fender American Std Strat because two strings went kerplooey on the Strat--I restrung the Strat a day before the gig, so I won't buy THAT string brand again (I don't want to trash them in public, it's not my style). The Schecter weighs about the same as my Strat, with a very similar body shape, yet has a distinctive tone (I'd say somewhere between an EPI Les Paul PRO (not coil-tapped) and Ibanez SZ/S model). Only VERY minor tweaking of the strings; great bridge and tuners! From now on, I will give this equal time on stage with my Strat. I believe that ANY level of guitarist can enjoy playing this one, probably as much I did even in an emergency. It's got some serious eye-candy appeal; built like a tank but very smooth 'n sexy; sports some great tuners; wide variety of tones; sounds crisp yet smooth; and is reasonably priced. Oh, the music our band plays ranges from Indy, to (not death) metal, to classic rock (w/some jazz-fusion, funk/punk themes) and even a few R&B gems.
