The PRS 2-Channel Custom 50 Amp Head is a versatile, modern amp with several features that give players ultimate versatility and musicality. Each channel features channel volume, bright switch, treble, middle, bass, and master volume controls.

The lead channel also has a switchable mid-shift that will either scoop some of the midrange when "in" or act as a fat boost for that channel when pulled out. There is also a global push/pull presence control that provides a depth boost and a global push/pull reverb control. When the reverb knob is pulled the reverb will only work on the clean channel. This allows you to have global reverb engaged and be able to switch seamlessly between lead channel without reverb and clean channel with reverb (via the footswitch).

The 3-button LED footswitch also has a solo boost and channel selection. The 2-Channel Custom 50 has a full effects loop and can cascade from clean to gain without losing articulation, making it a great platform for pedals.

The amp is great if you're looking for a do it all. Fendery cleans and Marshally dirts. Great low end even with the bass boost disengaged. However with bass boost engaged it does tighten up the low end on the dirty channel and sounds good but seems a little boomy on the clean (perhaps an automatic shut off like the reverb would be nice). Reverb is good especially with auto cut off for dirty channel. Can play an entire show with just the head naked and a couple cabs because of the features (The PRS website has a list of them). Wish the mid-shift's were foot switchable, it would make a great solo boost. Volume boost on both channels are great. Great channel switcher. I was able to put away my Fender's and Marshall's after buying this amp.

.Whether you gigging, recording or just at the house, the PRS Custom 50 amp head is the answer. The head is super solid but not going to wear you out carrying form gig to gig. I use with the Mesa Cab Simulator and XLR to the board with an EV 15" monitor back at me on stage. 'Nuf said on that. When it comes to the PRS, the quality stacks high. I love the simplicity of a 2 channel amp with superb craftsmanship and technology and when dialed in your liking, the sound is like a FINAL mix. Just get a PRS...period.

.Great sounding amp and the Verb not only works...it's sounds very good. Seems it was wired backwards to the tank just like PRS said. Thank MF for making it right.

.Bought a "Blemished" amp head and the reverb did not work in any setting, Lead or Clean. Sent "blemished " head back to MF and ordered a "new in the box" same PRS head. Guess what... reverb doesn't work. Emailed PRS direct and tech stated that the reverb tank could be wired backwards! I thought gear was tested and inspected before sending out? Either way MF stands by their policy and will "bench test" another head before sending me another. Thank you Custom Guitars Friend and I look forward to getting this amp back!
