Product Description

The SE Alex Lifeson Thinline acoustic is a road-worthy guitar for players in need of a stage- and studio-ready instrument. Carrying over its unique appointments from the Private Stock Alex Lifeson acoustic, this model features a thinner body depth than PRS™ standard Angelus model and the œBirds in Flight inlay design.

The thinner body provides an added level of comfort for players and boasts PRS™ proprietary bracing pattern, which gives this guitar a resonance and warmth not found in some thinline models. The addition of an undersaddle pickup with both volume and tone controls gives this guitar a warm acoustic tone when amplified. As with all SE Series guitars, the Alex Lifeson Thinline acoustic is a quality instrument and a great value.

œI was very pleased when PRS presented me with my SE Angelus acoustic, a beautiful guitar of stunning quality. It was in response to the challenge of building a guitar that shared the integrity and attention to detail that the Alex Lifeson Private Stock Angelus possesses in a package more broadly accessible. The SE Alex Lifeson Thinline is that model. Carefully selected materials, expert craftsmanship and a smart approach to concept resulted in a guitar that is beautiful to look at and rewarding to play. - Alex Lifeson

I have had this guitar for two weeks now. I bought it based on Alex Lifeson's name and PRS's reputation. I have a PRS SC 250 already and was very interested in getting an acoustic PRS to test out.

The guitar is thinner than most, and is easier to hold versus a dreadnought model for example. The sound is very bright and cheery and likely due to the smaller form factor. The action is excellent and required no modification.

The battery to the pickup is located inside the sound hole, making it a bear to change. There is no onboard pickup, which most new models come standard with these days. I know that this last complaint is irrelevant to most, but I have gotten spoiled with my Breedlove bridge-threaded strings versus the pegs that most acoustic guitars use to hold strings in the bridge.

Overall, the guitar is beautiful, plays well, and sounds good. Pick one up if you want a collectors item that plays well, however if I had to choose between my Breedlove stage dreadnought and this, I'd pay the extra and get the Breedlove.

.I sold my Taylor 114 (another great guitar) to pick up this beauty as I don't need two. I initially purchased an open box item but there was a small almost imperceptible cupping at the high part of the neck that caused a small amount of fret buzz. The good folks at MF couldn't have been more helpful in getting me a great discount on a new one. The new one is flawless. For a guitar in this price category, I don't know of a better one in terms of craftsmanship, PRS makes a beautiful instrument. That being said, I bought it because having picked up a couple in some local guitar shops, I knew that this guitar suited me perfectly. Does it have that big boomy Martin sound? Nope, but it's got plenty of tone and volume for a shallow body, and sounds even better plugged in. The thing that really sells me on this though is the incredible playability. The action is perfect, the neck is so comfortable, it just makes playing so much fun. I feel like if beginning players could have something like this, they would be far less likely to give up like so many do. Now I need to pair this up with one of their electrics :-)

.Nice sound. Easy to play. Low action. Great guitar for home, practice, small venues. Tough to beat this guitar at this price. Very pleased with my purchase.

.This is such a nice guitar. Both in looks and sounds. I am very pleased with this. I went on two things.the PRS name and also Alex Lifeson name. I have exchanged all of My old guitars to PRS. Now I only have PRS guitars and very pleased about it.

If You want a nice sounding and looking acoustic/electric than get one for Yourself. It has a very study hard shell case as well.
