Product Description

Fashioned for player comfort, clear powerful tone and easy action, the DJRE Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar is reduced to approximately 15/16 in. of the full Martin 14-fret Dreadnought dimension (14-1/4 in. width at the lower bout) with an expressive 24 in. scale length. A solid Sitka spruce top features scalloped 1/4 in. high performance X-bracing with a single asymmetrical tone bar. The back and sides are bookmatched from solid sapele, and Richlite, an ebony alternative with similar hardness and appearance, is chosen for the fingerboard and bridge. The DJRE Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar (aka "D Jr") comes factory-equipped with Fishman's Sonitone sound reinforcement system and includes a nylon gig bag.

Great price on an all solid wood Martin. I enjoy the small size but nice sound.
Martin DJRE Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural
.I have had several guitars from martin and other manufactures. These two mexico martins I have bought are in every way built as good as them..martin drs2 and the martin Jr.the martin Jr sounds fantastic,I was so close to buying A different travel guitar that had laminated back and sides but had trouble doing it..so glad martin came out with solid wood guitar.has a very robust sound that is definitely martin..not quite as loud as full size dreadnought, easy playability with short scale length.. It has an OK gig bag..I am very pleased..

.As far as smaller sized travel acoustic guitars go, I've had, and have been playing a Taylor GS Mini for quite some time and although I like the Taylor very much the Martin Dreadnought Junior is a great small scale acoustic guitar. I have a couple Martin acoustic guitars and this acoustic has that un-describable Martin play-ability and feel. It has a little wider neck than the Taylor GS Mini which (at least for me) allows me to play certain chords and hammer on's a bit cleaner with less fat fingering or dead notes. Again, as far as smaller, to scale acoustic guitars go, this is a must have for any guitar player. There's still nothing like a Martin and this new dreadnought junior fits right in.

.This is a Nice Little Guitar. It has a Nice Rich Sound. However, like the description says. "it's Little". Its hard for me to fit my fingers in the frets for chords. The craftsmanship is wonderful and what you'd expect from Martin. However I feel this guitar should come with a disclaimer. It does give the specs, however it's hard to imagine how much tighter the fretboard gets after shrinking it by a half inch. I couldn't gig this guitar comfortably. I'll use it for an around the house strummer. It would be Fantastic for a kid that has already progressed in playing and skill enough to warrant a nice Martin.

.Let me say first of all I own 3 top-of-the-line Martins and 3 top-of-the-line Taylors. I can not believe the deep rich Martin sound of this little dreadnought. It is richer than my 00028 Aura Martin. I bought it to take to open mics and travel, but it is becoming the first guitar I pick up. This is an amazing instrument. The neck is comfortable. But the sound is unbelievable. I don't know how they did it.

.Where do I start to describe this "KILLER GUITAR ! ? Let me start off saying that I'm a working musician with no connection to the Martin Co. Played a Martin Dred Jr. at a local store for at least a half hour. I was very impressed with the rich sound, playability , construction and looks of this guitar. Always like the Dred , however as a petite gal , found the standard size dred guitar uncomfortable to play . Then C.F Martin came out with this gem that includes a gig bag. It's considered a "travel size guitar"...... I'd say it's more like a 00 size guitar, which is "not too small"....."not too big"......"just Right " !

Went back to the store a few days later with the intention of purchasing this guitar. Well... "snooze I loose" ....it was SOLD ! I took a chance buying one online from Custom Guitars Friend ( I like to physically try it before buying . IMO, no two sound alike when it comes to guitars) Custom Guitars Friend had an "open box" at a discounted price stating it was "mint" condition. Gave it a shot & bought it. Received the guitar in perfect condition. Set up was perfect right out of the box, electronics worked fine....YAY !!

Gig bag is just "ok". If you plan on traveling a lot with it , you may want to get something more protective.

The Guitar itself plays as nice as the one I tried at the local store ,.... however the one from Custom Guitars Friend was less $$, no tax, no shipping. Huge savings, especially for working musicians. So...."Thank You" C.F Martin co. for making fine guitars and "Thank You" Custom Guitars Friend for being a "musicians friend" :-)

.Completely satisfied with this purchase. Custom Guitars Friend did not have a hard case in stock so I had to source elsewhere. Martin makes a nice case for this guitar which I purchased.

.I'm relatively new to guitar playing, but am an avid researcher of products. I own one other acoustic dreadnought which is an Ibanez AW54CE. I'm very happy with this purchase having bought into the Martin guitar mistique and I see, feel, and hear the difference. My Ibanez is a solid top full size dread and the only way I can describe the difference is that a Martin sounds like butter, or honey, or smoke (if you can turn that into sound). Now I know what they mean by "rich" sounding. Sonically louder does not necessarily make a better sound. Martin is fuller, like a loud higher watt audio speaker vs. a fine tuned multichannel sound system. Martin is amazing. Why the 4 star review, and why am I comparing it to an Ibanez? Because my Ibanez was cheaper, and quality control was better. I don't know what richlite is, but it stinks, like literally. Some weird synthetic chemical smell kind of like raid bug spray. That's what my fretboard is made of and it makes my fingers stink. And I have a bent low e tuning peg that wobbles when I rotate it. Stays in tune despite. Other than that I love my git box.
Martin DJRE Dreadnought Junior Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural
.Bought level 1 came with neck tweaked. Sent back resent a level 2 cheaper guitar mint condition. So far so good. Upgraded ebony pins huge improvement didn't sound bad with plastic but definitely worth the 25 but upgrade

This is a great guitar . The price is a little steep, but it sounds like a Marint and is better set up than most Martins I have played
