Aside from the afformentioned chorus and reverb control functions, the amplifier is solidly constructed and loud enough for my purpose. I am quite pleased with my recent purchase as well as the customer service of MF. I had ordered two and had to return one with a non functioning reverb, but was propmtly sent a new amp within 5 days. Returns are handled curteously and with no hassles. Even though I could have saved $20 from other online dealers, I have been a MF customer a number of times in the past and this was the first time that I ever had to return something. Keep up the great service.
Amplifier has two top panel channels, Channel One for instrument has an unbalaced 1/4" input jack, rotary constrols for level, low and high equalization with center detent so that the equalization functions as a +/- 15db boost/cut (much more flexible for achieving you desired tone), rotatry chorus with a push button select fro assigning the chorus to either channel one or channel two.

Channel Two has a combination 1/4"-XLR input jack for either an instrument (high impedance) or a microphone (low impedance), rotary constrols for level, low, middle and high equalization with center detent, reverb control and master volume (common to both channels). Other features are chicken head style knobs, 1/4" headphone jack, power led indicator (power switch and power cord connection on rear panel. Two eight inch full range dual cone speakers, spring reverb pan and durable hansome looking dark brown tolex covering with antique brass colored corner protectors as well as a sturdy cabinet.
I bought this amplifier primarily for use with a Walden CG550 nylon string A/E with Fishman Classic 4 preamp, Walden, GC630CE grand concert steel string A/E with Fishman Classic 4 preamp and a Tanglewood TW28-CSN-CE dreadnaught steel string A/E with Fishman Isys preamp. Eq works quite well in conjuction with the stated guitars onboard preamp tone controls. I definitely like the center detent (flat) positions and find that I plenty of range so that I do not have to make major adjustments. Sound is clear and I belive does not suffer from lack of a HF tweeter. Yes I get the usual piezo quack from the pickups but am amble to minimize it with the equalization controls. Volume is suprisingly loud for a solid state amp and should be fine for small venues and out door back deck gatherings (one of the reasons I bought it). The built-in chorus has an audible hiss if turned up all the way (not necessary - lower setting sound best for acoustic guitar). The spring reverb is clean sounding but a little on the "light" side. Obivously having more controls for depth and mix of these effects would have exceeded the price point for this amplifier. Even plugging in my Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster sounded decent (but I am spoiled by the reverb in my vibro-champ XD).
Compared to other acoustic amplifiers that cost less (ie no second channel, one speaker, etc) and cost more ($300 +) the overall quality and value for $189.95 is remarkable.

.Outstanding light, little amp. Stick it in the back of my MINI and go. It has excellent two-channel input, with one channel taking either the 1/4" cord or the mic cord -- really convenient.
So far so good -- I've only had it for a few weeks, but have had no problems. I still own and use my Peavey PA System that I bought in 1980 and it still sounds great!
For the price, best overall features, quality, and utility.

. If you want something well-built with basic features and a classic analog signal chain at a poor man's price, this amp is it. I chose it over a Behringer amp of similar size and power that was a close second. I'm a Behringer fan for quality at a low price, but the Peavey had spring reverb! Where do you get that any more?
I'm using the amp with a Japanese-built Austin knockoff of a D-45, an Epi Les Paul Special, an Ibanez acoustic, and a Shure SM58 vocal mike,
I very much like the classic layout of rotary knobs and toggle switches, recessed into the top where they won't get banged. The only effects you really want for a small acoustic amp are reverb and chorus, and it's nice to get the analog version for a low price. Having a reasonable amount of power, and two drivers to push it through is what sold me. For what the amp is designed to be, the only feature I would have liked to have added is a Line Out jack. Would have cost very little, but so very useful on any amp.
For the price, the sound is great! Rich and full with plenty of bass. The cabinet is rock solid. Jacks could be better. Chorus circuit is noisy, and the preamp for the XLR doesn't have enough gain to match the line-in at similar volume settings. These are minor to me. The handle on top is actually a decent handle, and not a nailed-on strip of rubber! Nice touch!
Great design! Simple, but not cheap. Extra style points.

.I've had this amp for over a year now, & here's my review. 1st of all, like many of the reviews I see here, I too thought it was "loud", "noisy", & I ALMOST returned it. Here's the thing with this amp. You need to finely adjust between the master volume & the level of whatever channel you're using. By doing that you can eliminate the static noise. Then, you will see, that this is actually a great amp for the money. It's clean, loud, & has a great E.Q. on either channel. Don't be discouraged when you 1st plug your guitar(or mic) into it & you get a hissing sound. Adjust the level & master volume settings & it sounds great. Any static from using the chorus can also be eliminated by adjusting the level & master volume.

.I picked up this amp to use with my outlaw country act. This thing is sweet,it has warm tone, and the chorus is nice.I think the switchable chorus effect is cool,I use it on my vocal channel and it gives it a little something different. The vocal channel is clean and clear, without effecting the guitar channel. It's amazing how much power this unit has at only 20wts RMS.The quality is awesome,as expected from Peavey,it should last a lifetime on the road. The only complaint is there is no aux input for backing tracks I sometimes use as I am a solo act.Other than that,it's definatly the best bang for your buck. This is now my primary amp.

.I love Peavey Products so I may be a bit partial in their direction when I talk about them. This is the best Acoustic Amp I have ever owned in this price range. I don't how anybody could expect more. The tone reproduction is exceptional and the variety of tones you can get out of it seem to be endless. I play a Guild GAD20E and a Takamine EG523 though it and the response for both guitars is outstanding.I use the Chorus channel for one type of music and the Reverb channel for another. It works very well for small to moderate size rooms. Turn it down and put a microphone in front of it and the possibilities expand even more.I am very pleased with this amp!

.I bought this amp here in Hamilton, and every one of these Peavy Ecoustic 208 amps was noisy. The problem is mostly with the chorus select, although even without the chorus select on, it makes a lot of noise. I bought one, then returned it. Peavey gave me a new one. I returned that one too. I was disappointed because this amp had everything I wanted in an amp. Mic jack, reverb, chorus, high low and mid. I ended up getting a Crate Acoustic 125D. Sure it cost me a couple hundred more, but well worth the investment.

.This is a great amp. At this price you simply cant get a better deal. This amp sounds great and is plenty loud for being only thirty watts. The chorus is real nice too. It adds a nice depth to the sound making it more three dimensional. The only fault I have with this amp is that the 2nd channel seemed somewhat quieter than the 1st. This is really an issue though. I would recommend this amp to anyone who needs an affordable way to amplify their acoustic guitar.
Peavey Ecoustic E208 30W 2x8 Acoustic Combo Amp Brown
.I own a recording studio. I was looking for an amp to help with "Film Scoring". I have over 40 guitars in the studio, and 20 guitar amps. I really thought that this amp might be a good addition to assist in the work that is being done here. This amp is horrible. I would try to return it, but it might be easier to shove an elephant into a Prius, than to return a guitar amplifier to Custom Guitars Friend. Please don't waste your time on this product. It appears to be a "Hit or Miss" item, in terms of quality.

.I will get another one to run in stereo
