I've used these speakers for live shows, and DJ gigs and I've been more then happy. The first gig I did, was at a big outdoor political rally, for more then 2000 people, and I could hear the bands perfectly all the way on the other side of the park. I recommend using these with an independant subwoofer, but for indoor gigs, there's no need. Plenty of bump in these Peavys. Did I mention how light they were? For those of you hauling stuff all the time, it's a plus.

.I'm writing this review to comment on how beautiful these speakers sound. My setup includes: a Behringer Xenyx 2442 mixer, a Nady XA-700 amp, and two PV115's. I have them set up in my band room, and they deliver very smooth sound. When compared to some Mackies my friend uses, it seems these are superior. They are not too heavy, loud, and sound great at high volume. I have not used them for a show yet, but I have heard them used at a local venue and they sound great. You will not regret buying some of these speakers.

.I have 4 of these and I run them as mains. I am the chief engineer for a multimedia company at a college. We purchased these and have used them at 2 dances. During the first, after 3 hours, the cabinets stopped working and when they came back they were lighting up on the inside. (it was described to me as "flashlights turned on inside it every time it hit hard") the room quickly smelled like burning electronics. Later, we used the other 2 speakers in another dance. I kept a keen eye on them and noticed that again, after 3 hours, they started to glow through the ports. I quickly turned the amps down but the rest of the night they would start to glow when the music was particularly bass-heavy. Anyway, I will never get these again. Probably going to JBL.

.I can't understand why someone could possibly be disappointed in this cabinet. I've used 2 of these cabinets for 2 years now with different daily band practices and venues up to 250 people and I'm completely satisfied. I have excellent bass response (even w/ a double bass), I mean sure its not making your chest thump because 2 15"s can't do that but its got the punch and it sounds great. The midrange response is exactly what it needs to be making vocals clean and bright. And those big horns shoved in there give everything the perfect crisp and clarity it needs. The weight and position of the handles make it very easy for one person to load and carry around. I would recommend placing these on stands to get them head level because mids/highs are unidirectional frequencies so unless they are even with your ears, you won't hear them as well. I'm pushing them 200 watts each in stereo and its plenty load (vocals is all you need through the pa) for metal bands with their ridiculous stacks and loud drums piercing 130dbs and these speakers are capable of a LOT more (2x atleast)! Lastly, these speakers are durable. I have hit walls carrying them through doors frequently. They have fallen out of the back of a suburban onto cement as well as other accidental spills. From that they have loss no sound quality or functionality (amazing enough theres no scrapes/dings/or dents!) These things work perfect! The price is right folks, get 2 of these.

.I wont waste your time here. I use a pair of these on my keyboard rig. The handle every thing I throw at them. The tonal spectrum is very important to me and its these speakers I use. I plan on buying another pair of these.

.ok...i'll make this short and sweet. I use a soundcraft gigrac 600 with 2 pv115's. these speakers are perfect for mid size venues. portability is nice, and the sound resonating out of these puppies are second to none. I have played through electrovoice, jbl, qsc, all the big names....and what it comes down to is....price and quality. peavey hasn't been around for so many years because they make a crap product, and this one, the pv115, is hands down, one of the best sounding speakers i have ever heard. the vocals that this speaker reproduces are superb. every word, every note, is so, so smoothe. the hf driver is very responsive even at high decibel's. the woofer, although only one 15", reproduces a substantial amount of bass also at higher lvl's. the bottom line? this is a GREAT product for mid size gigs (and maybe some larger gigs, i played to a party of 350+ last weekend usin' these badboys). peavey, you have managed again to produce a great product that is ready for the long haul, and meets all of my expectations.

.I bought these PV115's about three years ago, and i am glad i did. For the price ,they are worth every dollar, they sound really loud and clear, and i have not had a problem with them, very durable. These dudes can fill a pretty large area, and do really well.I am planning on getting another pair ,or upgrade to the Peavy 215's.
Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet
.I used these speakers on full range for a dj gig and through the whole 7 hours of the party they never went down on me are showed any sing of weakness. The hall I played in was a big hall and these speakers did really well. The only thing these are missing are the twist lock connect plugs.
Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet
.I run two sets of dj equipment and bought a pair of these to add to a set of Cerwin Vega 15' Subs with the second set. I use a Peavey 2600 amp for all four speakers. Great for small to medium weddings / clubs. I was pleasantly surprized at the sound quality for the price ratio!!! These are worth more than they charge!! Handle highs and Mids "most excellent". EV's are better, but these give excellent bang for the buck!!
Peavey PV 115 2-Way 15" Speaker Cabinet
.Picked these up about 2 years ago, and set these up on a stage, in park for a small festival. I use a yamaha (500W per side) powered Mixer, and you could hear the band perfectly accross the street from the park.

Fantastic mains for DJing or a live band. I use them mostly for DJing and half the time, I don't even need a sub.

Amazing speakers for the price. Watch out for peaking at times, but make sure they're powered right. I throw 500w a side at them, and they could easily handle more.
