My first and last time trying Martin strings. I though I'd give them a shot and lost 5 bucks. There was corrosion right out of the box and there's nothing special about these strings.

.Been using these since my guitar tech guy recommended them to me back in the late 90's. Good sustain, last 2-3 weeks, rarely break. (I use the custom extra lites with low action)

.My brother and I both play Martin acoustics. I have over 400 hours of studio experience...he has in the neighborhood of 100 and these strings absolutely get it done when it's time to lay tracks. Most "how-to" books you'll read on acoustic guitar recording techniques preach that you should re-string a new set every session. Well, ideally, that is true but if you are an indie artist like myself and my brother and you don't have a label footing your studio (and string) bills, these strings are a lifesaver. I've gone into sessions with my Martin DM with these strings having been strung for some 2 to 3 weeks and layed down as sweet an acoustic sound as you'd ever want. THESE STRINGS DO WHAT MARTIN SAYS THEY'LL DO: THEY SOUND GREAT AND HAVE LONGEVITY IN THE STUDIO.

.These are the worst acoustic strings I have ever bought. While they sound good and bright, they were very tense and became too painful to play after a while. Also, Martin has decided to cut cost on packaging by stuffing six strings into three envelopes. Where wound strings were stuffed with unwound strings, there was corrosion passed from the former to the latter. I would never use these strings again. For such a prestigious company as Martin to put out such an inferior product is a shame.
