I own a 12-string Seagull acoustic guitar which I bought used over 22 years ago. I just bought these strings to experiment with lower tunings on the "old bird." I formerly used extra-light gauge strings (.010" to .047"), but those started to buzz and flop like rubber bands when detuning to C#.

These "light" gauge strings (.012" to .054") definitely solved the "rubber band" problem when tuning down to C! The Seagull now has quite a "growl" with this tuning. Even with a capo on the 1st fret to achieve the C# that I wanted, the "growl" is still there; yet the strings are relaxed enough so that I can play barre chords without excessive force. Plus, the price was very reasonable, especially since I bought these strings for experimentation.

I would recommend these strings to anyone considering lower tunings on an acoustic 12-string guitar. I would NOT recommend these strings for anything close to standard pitch.

.On a 12 string guitar, I just found these .12's too heavy. It was hard to hold the chords down, it bowed the neck on my 1970's Fender 12 string. My fault, I just ordered these because they were cheap. I will stick to .10's for my 12 string

.Needed to replace the strings on my professional Ovie 12-string, and couldn't find my favorite brand Martin Marquis Lights anywhere locally. Apparently all 12-string owners now play only "extra lights." These brought back the tone I love. Thanks for keeping them available.

.I was setting the action on this 12 string for a friend and, talked him into letting me restring it also. What a difference it made,It didn't sound like the same guitar. The tone was so sweet and full after installing the M 190 12 string set. Thanks for your good products and value. .I like to use Martin strings on all of my acoustic guitars. They hold up just fine for me when I'm practicing, and I really beat on my guitars. I always put on a new set before every gig and after I stretch them out I never have a problem with them going out of tune or breaking. Of course that also has a lot to do with the guitar. String up your 12 string with these. For the price you can't go wrong.

.Light strings always tune well open but bend out of tone easily
But they are easy on 12 string neck
