It would be hard to go on and praise a set of guitar strings, but I can tell you this. I have been using Martins on my acoustics for quite a few years and am always satisfied with the quality, longevity, and good tones…..I recently bought an old 1967 Framus Texan model 5/296 12 string. A nice guitar, but it hasn't seen any lovin' in a long, long time…..I had to glue a few things set the neck and bridge saddle… When I was ready for some strings, I choose the Martin 10's. A light gage string is always recommended on a 12 string of this age, because of the tension on the neck…… I ordered a couple of sets (one for now, one for later) and strung and tuned the Guitar …..Very mellow-

sounding Guitar, especially with the Martins……. I will always use martins on my acoustics…. I'm the kind of guy that likes to stick with a plan that works...

I put these on my martin guitar, 2 years And they still sound new. It sounds like eric clapton made my own guitar.

Martin M180 12-String 80/20 Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings
.I tried a set of Ernie Ball Earthtones on this guitar first, but with a combo of a 12-string headstock, and a short tail-piece, they simply came up short on string lengths... D and G courses would barely reach!

Say what you will about Martin Strings, at least they are cut with enough length for the vintage guitars you may find out there! I think the Martins are not as clear-sounding as the Earthtones (just a tad of "muddiness", not terrible, but there), and I would have preferred a little more consistency on the choice of gage combination in the courses (which probably contributes a bit to the loss of clarity), but at least they don't scrimp on that extra inch or two on length!

Martin strings in general have not been living up to my expectations for tone for quite a while now, but I always seem to be falling back on them as a go-to string when I'm just grabbing a random set to throw on... Whatever their issues may be, they are certainly consistent set-to-set! And sometimes, consistency trumps other considerations.

.You can't beat Martin strings for consistent durability, ease of play, and quality of sound and at Custom Guitar's Friend, they are truly bargain priced.
