I don't usually take the time to write reviews but I felt I had to this once.

I purchased a used and very cheap Ibanez Talman TY10 electric acoustic for my daughter. The strings looked like they were 10 years old so replaced them with a generic, medium weight set of phosphor bronze strings. I use the same strings on my Washburn jumbo acoustic and they sound and play fine. Replacing rusty, frayed old strings with anything new obviously made a big difference to the sound of the Talman but I was really disappointed in how weak the guitar sounded - it is a very small, compact guitar but has little projection and the tone was pretty terrible. I was about ready to resell the guitar when I remembered back to trying out a new Talman TY10 in a guitar store and how light the strings felt - that guitar sounded and played much better. Based on some other reviews I decided to try the Martin SP Phosphor Bronze Extra Lights - what a HUGE difference it made to the quality of the sound - sweet ringing tone and it surprisingly made the guitar sound deeper which it desperately needed. I was truly shocked at the improvement. The lightness also suits the guitar from a playability standpoint. I always thought strings was strings and differences were subtle at best - not so. I'll be trying different gauges of Martin SPs on my other guitars to see if I get the same jump in sound quality.

Bottom line is if you have cheap sounding little guitar, for a minimal investment of less than 6 bucks, try these strings and see if you get the same dramatic improvements in sound and playability that I got.
For only a couple of dollars more than the cheapest strings these are a bargain given the improvement in sound.

.I love these Martin MSP4000 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings. I have tried several types of strings on my Washburn Cumberland Jumbo 6-string. These strings are my last stop. They sound great, stay in tune, improve intonation, and the price is right. I play finger-style and these are easy on the fingers and allow ease of control of pitch and sustain. Try these first unless you enjoy spending alot of money on changing out strings.

.As a beginner, I needed a string that was easy to play. I figured an "extra light" string would be eaiser to play, but the sound would be "extra light" as well. WRONG! These strings sound great and they made me a better player right away. The buzzing was gone and the notes rang clear and long. If you've been playing less than a year, buy just one set of these strings. You won't be disappointed.

.Good value for the price. They perform as advertised.

.I'm not hugely accomplished on guitar, but I do love playing my Martin DM and I have close ties to pros from as far back as 1979 that have used these specific strings and swear by them. In addition, my brothers are both very accomplished and my younger brother who also plays a Martin acoustic picked up my DM one day, played it, and said right away "Okay what are these strings on this instrument. I'm ordering some right now". They provide a nice clean sparkle on the high end while still producing a rich deep sound. You will not be disappointed with these strings.

. Great Value and Quality
Put a set on an old beater, wow brought her right back to life. I used Martin Marquis for ever though
I would try a set of these out. I was amazed on the sound coming out these SP4000, seemed to have a little more ring for lows and mid range. If you like the Marquis you will certainly like the SP4000's.
There Martin strings what more can I say
reasonably priced

.Purchased a vintage Gibson LG0 and needed a low tension string for the short scale. I was surprised at the volume and tone from these extra light strings! They sounded better than the Marquis lights that I put on first.I'm impressed!!

.These are the best bronze strings I've ever used.I put a set on my small body mahogany guitar and they give it a nice bass response and harmony. And when stringing your guitar, you don't have time problems when tuning. My only complant is that the first and second strings are from steel, not pure bronze and they get rusted in a short time. Anything else is excelent.

.I recommend these strings to anyone.
I've used these string for years and always been satisfied. Just playing in my living room the strings area little tinny, but when I play on stage I play through a modeler or just through my PA system and they sound super.
I have never had a string to pop and they last in quality for a long time.
My opinion is: sound is everything and worth the money. $5 to get good sound is cheap.
Martin MSP4000 SP Phosphor Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings
.will continue to use these on my 38 year old Aria
This is the first time I've used these.. Wish I had started using them eariler
the sound and ability to hold tune is really great
I've been using Martin strings for many years on my Acoustic Guitars. The quality vs cost is great the only strings that I've used that comes close to my liking are D'Addario which have a great sound as well.
