Product Description

The Martin Performing Artist Series OMCPA4 Orchestra Model Acoustic-Electric Guitar is constructed with solid tonewoods. The back and sides are matched from African sapele, similar in appearance and tone to mahogany. Bookmatched Sitka spruce soundboards utilize Martin's Hybrid "A-Frame" scalloped bracing.

The Performing Artist Series OMCPA4 features a slim, more parallel taper at the 12th fret, allowing for a more comfortable playing width up the neck. The bridge spacing is also modified to 2 3/16" - splitting the difference between Martin's two traditional spacings.

Along with the look, feel, and enhanced performance of Martin's existing Performing Artist Series models, the OMCPA4 also has the new, simplified Fishman F1 Analog electronics system. Includes case.

I purchased this Martin 2 years ago, and it has the quality and tone that you expect from a Martin. I am very satisfied with this model, the only thing that bothers me is the bass is not as strong as you would get from a dreadnought. Works well for all genre of music, with electronics!

.so, i am a guitarist in my church, and for a long time i had a cheap rouge guitar which wasn't cutting it. and so i went to my local guitar store and i tried out this guitar. that was it, i was in love. the tuner mutes the guitar when its plugged in, and the guitar is also very light. when playing un-plugged this guitar has GREAT projection. this guitar is also very to play. and its also a great bonus that it comes with a hardshell case. all in all, this guitar is an awesome addition to anyone's collection. i expect this guitar to be with me for a long tome.

.I will start by clarifying why a gave a 4 for features. Obviously, this does not have the Aura electronics, wood binding, etc. It isn't their flagship model, so the features are not top notch. However, for the average musician the guitar is flawless. The F1 analog sounds dead on through the amplifier. The quality of the guitar is Martin all the way. I couldn't find a single flaw anywhere. Value can't be beat. 1200 for an American made, all tone wood guitar. Overall, it is an amazing guitar. I have always loved Martin guitars. I compare this model to the Taylor 314 in looks and playability. Neck plays like an electronic and it sounds more like a Taylor than Martin with the treble. Bass is still there though. Just go play it!

.A touch brighter than most Martins, but without losing the smoothness and the bass that make this what I consider to be the consummate Martin player.

The spruce has the polished and perfect look that we've come to expect. The sapele is satin, and quite lovely. Even the finish makes this guitar feel like your favorite pair of jeans.
This is a sound-machine, whether plugged or not. The scalloped hybrid system that Martin devised (and patented) make it much more delicious than just about any acoustic you're ever likely to try. The Fishman Analog does the most important thing acoustic electronics can do: it stays out of your way.

This is the lightest, loudest (for its size and even compared with the DCPA4 Martin), best-made, and most comfortable instrument in its class. No guitar is a Swiss Army knife, but this masterpiece comes close to making you wish to use it for absolutely everything. You will appreciate this purchase more than any other.
USA, folks. Out of the box, you can tell that someone took pride in making this little gem absolutely perfect.

This is a Martin. I expect it to outlive my great-grandchildren, and to sound better when they give it to their great-grandchildren than it does now (and now it's unbeatable).
Value without parallel. The Analog F1 stays almost completely out of the way. When comparing it to Martins that cost twice the price (because of the electronics), you have to ask yourself whether you want a perfect acoustic or whether you want Garageband inside your guitar.

Add a TC Electronics "Hall of Fame" reverb pedal (which is perfect for both electric and acoustic) make this a powerhouse for a thousand dollars less than the aforementioned "Garageband" Martins.

.Bought this guitar approx 2 wks ago and played out with it several times. Mine has spruce top with sapele back & sides. Has warm sound that I like and plays like an electric with no buzz anywhere on the frets. Plays & sounds nice plugged in (my Fender amp ) or acoustic. Small body size is very comfortable to play and compact to take on gigs. Try this one and others in this price range. No Contest. Made in USA , all wood, sounds great, plays like butter, affordable. Thank you Martin !!

.Great workhorse guitar. Got this guitar at the local big box retailer. Tried everything. had my heart set on a gibson but found the sound dead. This martin was alive, resonate, and even. The Taylors were too brittle, and the gibsons boomy. This one played as well as the taylor but had that clasic martin tone. On a side not, the electronic system works very well and produces a fairly accurate representation of the sound. simple interface and easy to change out batery. Light, comfortable and good sounding keeper. She's a real nice gal!

.i usually try to wright my reviews a long time after i purchase the product to avoid biased opinions for or against the product. exactly 2 years ago, i went to my local guitar shop looking for an above status quo instrument. something exceptional in both sound and looks, in playability on and off the stage. as soon as i played this guitar, i knew it was the one. the fish man f1 electronics are fantastic and the tuner is incredibly useful. the sound of this guitar is almost harp-like, it resonates so well. the two years i have had it have been ones of beautiful song and melody. i would not recommend just ordering however. go to you're local guitar shop (the center of guitars if you know what i mean) and try every guitar out. martin and taylor. find one that fits you. have a nice day and play on my friends.

.A great USA made guitar. Had to have it professionally set up as the strings were to heavy and also to high. Now it is one great playing guitar. Sounds fantastic also!

.Best value for the money
Crossover for the serious guitarist
Worth the investment

.I actually traded up for this, I had the Martin satin-finished GPCPA4(I think?) model which sounded a bit muffled. Then I bought the comparable-priced Taylor, but traded that for this beautiful Martin. It's well-rounded and balanced in tone. I will say though that truthfully it does not compare to my Martin HD-28. But it's good for me to use for gigging. I keep my HD28 for playing at home. If you are a gigging musician and want a nice reliable reasonably priced guitar (with some haggling of course), get this one!
