These strings have the perfect balance of strong bass and clear trebles that give thumb-style players a great sound. The light gauge provides strong sound and good bend flexibility. For folks like me that change strings regularly, the M140s are a great value.

.For those who play for a living; and especially those who play intense music - these strings are perfect. I replace my strings every time that I play, and when I do that, I need strings that are economical AND sound good. I have little care for longevity because I do not use them for more than a couple of days. They are VERY bright and produce deep bass. I assume that if I was ever a "major league musician" I would probably switch to elixir strings; but for now these get the job done.

.I use these strings on my acoustics that won't handle medium strings. They sound nice and bright. I haven't had any breakage issues even though I play quite hard.

.I play for a living. I am heavy handed and play a lot of lead but I can't make it through one gig without breaking at least two strings. My first gig I broke an A and a D string. The Martin phosphor bronze are better for sure.
