This guitar is awesome! I've been playing for about 20 years and just dipped my toe into ERGs about three years ago. I started playing 8's on a cheaper Agile Scepter with a 28" scale just to get a feel for it. While I liked the extra range (I mainly play Jazz, rock and some metal) I faced some challenges with the longer scale and thus decided to upgrade instruments but downgrade the scale to 26.5.

I have owned several guitars in the past ranging from el cheapo to pro level and this model has the feel to me of a much more expensive guitar than what I was expecting. The neck is fast and slender, fretwork is top notch and the pickups are very versatile. I usually rip the pickups out of my guitars and load them up with SD JB in the bridge and an SD '59 in the neck to stay consistent but the Nazgul and Sentient combo is killer. Jazz tones are easily achieved and metal tones are even easier.

A note on scale, tuning and how it comes out of the box.
- The guitar came with strings on it that I consider too light. At the top it came with a 65 which makes the F# VERY flubby. I immediately replaced these with a set of Ernie Ball 8 String Slinkys (74 on top). The guitar needed minimal setup after this and seemed like it was setup with this in mind from the factory but it was probably coincidence. I tune a half step down and with the 74's this is not an issue however, if you want to tune to drop E you may want to consider throwing an 80 on the top string.
-The stock tuners are meh and I will be replacing them with Sperzals. One thing to note here the Ernie Ball 8 string sets are tapered on the top string. This is good because a standard, non tapered 74 will not fit through the tuner string hole without drilling.
