I have been buying, playing, repairing, setting up and maintaining electric guitars for over 40 years.
Based on that and the price:

This little beauty is great. It plays extraordinarily well and sounds just as good.
Intonation was almost perfect, up to the 24th fret, right out of the box. Amazing.

I also purchased a fantastic and fun Ibanez Gio Mikro that I recently reviewed.
The two guitars are similar and yet quite different from each other and, upon arrival, each had their own unique set of problems.

The Jackson also needed to be set-up properly and tweaked but that's not all...
The ground wire from the bridge was not connected and that was causing a huge buzz.
The pickups are not straight in their mounting rings and the neck pickup is wobbly.
I don't know what's up with that but I will check it out later.

Otherwise, as with the Ibanez, the finish (I got Snow White. Gorgeous.) is flawless,
the neck is superb except for an over-tightened truss rod causing a back bow (Which I fixed.), upper fret access in unlimited, the hardware is solid (Tuning machines are very nice. Better than the Ibanez.), the controls are smooth and solid and the pickups sound quite good to me. It is definitely not neck-heavy.

This guitar is not perfect, but for the price, I think I got a great little axe that I can easily modify if I want.
In fact, I am having more fun playing these 2/3 size guitars than my ridiculously expensive standard size ones.
They are not that much smaller and I am getting some awesome tone.
After adjusting the truss rod and tuning and leaving everything else as it was, I played it for over an hour and wow, it's great!

In my younger days, I would have returned this guitar as defective.
However, this is a super little axe and tweaking guitars to perfection is what I like to do and I do enjoy the results of my efforts.

Bottom line: If you want a great little guitar, super for high gain metal and shredding but not limited to that, don't wait... GET ONE !!!

.This is a fun little guitar. The price is right, and for what you pay, you get a decently built guitar. The short scale neck is comfortable, with no sharp frets (even for me with my large hands too). The pickups are decent enough, and the switch gives a very solid click when you move it. That said, there were some big issues with my particular unit: the nut slots were cut way huge/sloppily, especially on the 3rd string; the 6th string tuner was installed crooked, making it hard to turn without hitting the 5th string tuner [pic]; the tuners also do not turn well or hold tune (I am replacing these); and worst of all, the guitar was producing a loud electronic buzz from lack of grounding. I believe this problem will be present on all units of this model, because I determined it to be due to the black paint used on the bridge plate--it is non-conductive. In order to fix this, I dremeled an area under the bridge for the ground wire to contact [pic] and dremeled the string holes on the side closest to the neck where the strings would touch. This solved the problem. For anyone attempting this fix, I had trouble removing the bridge even after removing the 5 screws, because it was seemingly glued onto the body. I made a heat shield out of cardboard with a hole the size of the bridge and used a hair dryer to heat the bridge up, and after about 5 minutes, I took a guitar pick and pushed it very hard under the curled up side of the bridge, which caused it to pop off of the body finally. You may or may not have this problem and may or may not have to do what I did. There didn't actually seem to be glue on it, so I think maybe the paints just bonded a little. The bridge will come off though eventually. I expected to have to work with this guitar a little, and for the price, I was willing to see what I got. All in all, I've been playing it a lot and it's a fun guitar, and once I tweak the parts that aren't so good, it will be even more fun!

.Thought this would be fun to use for practice. Works out fine. The only downside for me was sharp fret corners & the neck is prone to bow. Easy fixes. Looks great as far as workmanship for the price.
