Product Description

Seymour Duncan APS-1 Alnico II Pro Staggered for Strat NEW!

This  listing is for one Duncan APS-1 Alnico II Pro Staggered for Strat pickup, the item is new in its sealed retail package as shown.Comes with a white logo cover and features staggered pole pieces.  We are an authorized Duncan dealer. From the Duncan website:

Summary

This vintage style single coil delivers all of the chime and bell tone enjoyed by Stratocaster players in the 50s, but with a sweeter  treble attack.

Description

Our Alnico 2 Pro Staggered for Stratocaster pickup uses hand ground alnico 2 rod magnets in a traditional staggered pattern and heavy Formvar mag wire with a special wind pattern to produce that classic bouncy tone youd expect from the best 50s Strat pickups. The treble attack is soft and sweet, while the low end has a vintage sponginess. Chords have a nice smoothness, and single notes have a singing, musical character.Pair with  our Alnico II Pro Staggered Strat €“ middle rwrpLike all of our vintage Fender style single coil pickups, we start with the right color and thickness of Forbon flatwork. Along with the period correct magnet stagger, this pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback  hook-up wires and traditional keyed bottom plate. We hand file the flatwork, assemble, and lacquer the bobbin just as it was done during Fenders Golden Age.

For warmer toned ash, alder or basswood body instruments. Works with maple and rosewood fingerboards.

"Should I go staggered or should I go flat??" Here's a simple rule of thumb that works for me:

< 9" radius, staggered> 12" radius, flatAnything in between 9" and 12", flip a coin/personal preference

We are authorized  Seymour Duncan dealers and all new pickups are covered by Duncan's 21-Day Real  World Exchange once installed as well.
