Original 1959 - 1961 Gretsch 6120 "Chet Atkins" Bigsby B-6 vibrato tailpiece. Very rare model featuring the "long hinge" with PAT NO D 169,120 stamp. This tailpiece was removed from an original late 1959/early 1960 Gretsch 6120 "Chet Atkins" guitar many years ago and it has been in my parts box ever since.
This Bigsby unit was factory installed by Gretsch. Excellent vintage condition...functions flawlessly with a very smooth action. It has a nice natural aged patina and shows minor wear from use. The black paint around the "Gretsch" and "Bigsby" logos is in good condition with no peeling or flaking. Original mounting screws are included. The spring is not original, but it was on the guitar when the Bigsby was removed. It is functional, but it's a tight fit around the arm mounting bolt. Basically, is has to be "snapped" onto the nut to function properly. Original springs are relatively easy to find, but I will leave that task up to the buyer.
This model Bigsby is very difficult to find separate from a guitar, so don't miss out...this is a good one. Factory correct part for Gretsch 6120 guitars manufactured from 1959 - 1962. This would be a great part for a vintage Gretsch restoration or to add some vintage mojo to your newer reissue model 6120.
