The SA160FM features a flamed maple top, classic deep Brown Burst finish, and Rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays and jumbo frets. Lurking beneath its graceful 3-D shape is select mahogany, chosen specifically for SA Series instrument slight enough for amazing comfort, dense enough to provide the tone and sustain that players expect from the SA-Series.
As originators of the thin, fast neck, the SA neck design carries on this Ibanez principle, providing playing comfort that translates into responsiveness and speed. SSH pickup configuration with 5-way pickup selector provides an impressive palette of tone textures, while the SAT Pro II tremolo bridge enables limitless full-tilt expression.
Quantum pickups
The Quantum pickups provide accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing with crushing mid range and precise high-end articulation.
SA Thin Body/Sat Pro II
The curvy arched SA Series top maximizes the beautiful figured maple, and thinner body for more comfortable playability. The Ibanez Sat Pro II synchronized tremolo eliminates unnecessary resonance around the saddles by firmly securing them to the bridge plate. This keeps the saddles very stable even during frequent tremolo use.

Okay. Two things to remember. I've been playing guitar since the early 70's. I know something about guitars. And the guitar was relatively inexpensive. This is a very good guitar. I like it a lot. Being around as long as I have it still amazes me at the quality that you can get at a low price level. The reason for 4 stars? Two of the neck screws that hold the neck on were stripped. An easy fix but it shouldn't come this way. That said, it's the only fault I can find with the guitar. The fit and finish are ecellent, the electronics are good quality with useful features, And it plays great. I had to adjust the kneck and action and I put a set of GHS Boomer 10's on it which requires a bit of set up because mine came with 9's on it. After I completed my set up and adjustments to my taste the thing plays very good. I really, really enjoy playing it. Is it equivalent to my $2000.00+ guitars? No. But it is a lot closer than you would ever imagine. I will be recording and gigging with this guitar. The tremelo is very good too. Very responsive and the guitar stays in tune, but I don't do dive bombs either. The pick-ups are alright. Not bad but nothing special. I will probably change them out but they really do a decent job with some nice useful sounds. All in all a great little guitar. And I don't use the word great a lot. Especialy for the price. You just can't go wrong with this instrument in my opinion.
