For 25 years the SR805 has given bass players a modern alternative. With its continued popularity, Ibanez is constantly endeavoring to answer the wider needs of a variety of players, at a variety of budgets. But no matter what the specs, the heart is the same-SR continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body, and perfectly matched electronics.
The neck tongue not only creates a unique look, it also makes utilizing the higher frets easier and coupling Jatoba with Bubinga has made it strong and stable despite its thinness.
The MK1 pickups are split coil designs that provide a very wide frequency range and enhanced definition for maximum accuracy. The Neck and Bridge pickups have equal response, like traditional single coils, but without the hum and noise.

I've been playing bass for 25 years, and I've never been happier with any bass I've owned. These basses are everything you could possibly want. Georgeous to look at, amazing range of tonality, tonal clarity, thin and light body, excellent bridge and tuners and a super comfortable and fast neck. It comes set up and ready to play right out of the box. All you have to do is tune it and you're ready to go. The best thing about these basses is how comfortable they are to play. You can play for hours on end and your hand doesn't get fatigued. I have other 5-string basses that will cause fatigue in your fretting hand after a while, but not this one. You can likely attribute that to the thin, comfortable neck and smaller frets. Also, because of the burl tops, each one is visually unique, which makes them extra special.
