Product Description

The AEG Series is a stage-ready acoustic-electric guitar designed specifically with the electric player in mind. With a thinner body and shorter 25” scale length, the AEG is designed to put the electric guitarist at ease with a feel and playability less acoustic and more reminiscent an electric instrument.

Built for comfort and speed, the AEG1812IIDVS features the feedback-killing thinner profile AEG body. The spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard provide a lively sonic response even without amplification. A Fishman Sonicore pickup with an AEQ-SP2 preamp delivers a sweet cascade of amplified acoustic tones for the stage, and an onboard tuner provides quick, discreet tuning. Other features include chrome die-cast tuners, a beautiful Abalone rosette and a natural high gloss finish.

I've had this guitar for three days now, and can't put it down. Bought as an "open box" item, but would not hesitate to replace it at full price; incredible value. As a life-long electric player, I bought a full sized 12 stringer a few years ago and fell in love with the sound. But playing that beast was always a struggle, so when I saw this Ibanez, I was intrigued so I too the plunge. This guitar is sooooo much easier to play, has a very "electric" feel to it and a pretty full acoustic sound. When I plugged it into a Fender amp, it just came alive! Beautiful, crystal clear, full sound. The action was a little too high once you reached the 10th fret and up, but a minor truss rod adjustment took care of that without introducing any buzzing anywhere on the fretboard. The tuners may have to be upgraded; staying in tune for long periods is a challenge for this guitar. Fit and finish are very nice in my guitar. Over all, the shorter scale, smaller body and full sound make this 12 string easy and fun to play. I know I'll be "getting my 12 string on" with this baby for a long time.

.Guitar has a narrow neck about the size of my takamine gd20n 6 string. Very comfortable for me to play. _ IF YOU HAVE large hands or fingers this is probably not for you. I orderd a used demo model and very happy with . Had minor scuff marks on back easily taken out . Very happy with the sound
And playability

.I played a friends Oscar Smithz 12 string and like it.
I looked and studied all the cheaper 12 Strings and the Ibanez AEG 181211 was what I bought. I could not be happier with it. It is smaller, so it's easier to play than my friends. He likes mine more than his own.
Very nice features and great sound. Can't beat the price for what your getting.
I would definitely recommend this guitar for anyone wanting to try a 12 string.
