Product Description

The Electro-Harmonix Enigma Qballs effects pedal is a powerful and precise envelope filter fine-tuned for bass frequency response. Sculpt your envelope to reveal a truly expressive tone, with a defined and unique signature. Enigma Qballs will deliver tight and smooth control over the complete 40 Hz to 3 kHz range, with a consistent and even sweetness.

Envelope controlled filters are a unique type of sound modifier where the intensity of the effect is controlled by the user's playing dynamics. The volume and dynamic of the incoming audio signal is used to control a swept filter. As the volume increases or decreases so does the frequency of the filter.

With 3 selectable filter modes, along with START, STOP, ATTACK, DECAY, Q and SENSITIVITY controls, Electro-Harmonix gives you many classic and modern Q sounds to play with to dial in vivid textures like never before. An analog distortion circuit was created specifically for the Enigma Qballs, and adds a dynamic edge to the filter's sound.

Need some edge? Engage Enigma's analog distortion and dial in anything from subtle bite to dominating crush. You can even plug in an optional expression pedal to control the filter sweep with your foot. With the ability to adjust Q, sweep range, and filter type, Enigma Qballs bass pedal becomes one of the most versatile wahs available.

This has to be hands down one of the top greatest pedals I have ever played on bass. Its extremely versatile, offering endless tone possibilities. It also features distortion, note: when i first plugged it in and tried the distortion, it was far too loud, but the owners manual indicated that you can open up the case and adjust the amount of distortion since there is no external knob. Once i had the right amount of distortion dialed in, it complemented the envelope filter so well, perfect combination in one pedal. amazing pedal worth every penny, highly recommended for any bassist interested in getting their own sound.

.I bought it and didnt have an expression pedal. It is certainly an enigma when you first test it out, but within a week I had warmed up to it and was giddy with its capabilities. Its amazing. The range of frequency it covers is enough for a six string bass, guitars too. But back to bass. It has ample control over its "auto-wah" with very sensitive atk and decay knobs. Q is so powerful that it will blow your head up full on. Full up it sounds like the resonance is wiggling out of the speakers. The sensitivity is great to lower in slap bass, and is also adept at doing what it is, sensing your playing! Now I gave it a 4.5 for features, only because it IS an autowah, so i shouldnt expect an expression pedal, but when played WITH and exp pedal......It knocks every bass wah out of contension. It simply becomes the best bass pedal you will own. -Other good stuff: The LP BP and HP filters work well, and your start and stop frequencys stay great no matter what band is being passed. The distortion: you have to open the box to adjust the LEVEL of distortion, but it is easy to do and its a clearly labeled pot that adjusts it. (I dropped it quite a lot to get just a ripped sound feeling with my wahs)

.Ive been using this ped for over a year now. No problems, and when dialed in sounds good, but I think it is about 80% over priced for what you get. I would go with a high end wah pedal instead of this if I had it to do over again.Woth about 99 bucks at best.
Electro-Harmonix Enigma Qballs Envelope Filter Bass Effects Pedal
.This pedal gets funky. It takes your sounds from normal to bootsy in no time. The distortion can be loud but it is perfect for cutting through and filling the space in jams and solos. There are so many knobs on this thing that you can make an endless number sounds to groove with. It's a bit pricey (about the same as most envelopes though), but if you can shell out the cash I recommend buying it.
Electro-Harmonix Enigma Qballs Envelope Filter Bass Effects Pedal
.It does take a little bit of time to get the sound you're looking for, but once you get the hang of the controls it, it becomes very easy to navigate through the sounds it is capable of making. Also setting the distortion level is a bit troublesome because the pot on that is SO sensitive.
