I was using mine to switch amps and was getting hum in the non-selected amp. So I opened up the box and found out why. All the needed components are inside for silent and properly grounded construction, only EH didn't bother to do it right!!1) All jacks' negative leads are grounded to the chassis and they even connect the jacks lugs together. This results in ground loop humming2) the non-selected jack's positive lead isn't shunted to ground, again creating hum3) the jacks that come with the pedal include the ability to shunt the positive to the negative when a plug isn't in the jack. This feature wasn't being used, so again humming resulted. It took me a half hour to re-design the circuit and another half hour to re-solder it correctly. Now that I have, the thing is dead silent. The non-active jack shunts it's ground so if you're using it to switch amps, the non-active one won't be humming. All jacks now shunt their positive and negative when a plug's not in them, which means if you disconnect the input your amps are silent. What's especially sad about all this is that EH actually went to the trouble of creating PCBs for the circuit to make assmebly easy. But they did it wrong, so I had to cut all their nice PCBs apart to repair what should never have passed quality control. What is up with companies that put SOOO little thought into doing things correctly?! EH could've done the job right for the same cost as doing it wrong. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.Feel free to contact me if you want a conversion schematic and instructions.

.It does what it does and a little more. Yes, it switches your imput to 2 feeds, but the bonus that they don't tell you is that it's also a sound producing effect. Sure the sound is an annoying noise that no guitarist would want, but still a sound. Skip this one.

.I just got this a few days ago, and all want to do with it is throw it across the floor. I run a Mesa Dual Rec. and a Line6 SpiderValve MK2..nice amp right? This thing will bleed through so bad to the point where I unhooked it, threw it, it broke and now I can't even get my money back!

.I was looking for an A/B/Y to use because I use two different amps (one for a clean tone and the other for a dirty tone) and I stumbled upon the Switchblade. This is a great piece of gear. Its completely passive so there are no batteries or power cables to fool with and no "tone suck". Also there is no bleed through and it causes no unwanted sound (like someone said in a different review... I can only assume that they received a bad lemon or they just have no idea what they are talking about!).If you need an A/B/Y then the look no further! You won't regret purchasing the EHX Switchblade!

.I needed an A/B box to change signal path from my strat's signal chain so I could route it to a tuner and kill my normal output in order to tune silently. It would also go out through the tuner to a separate clean amplifier in case of failure in one of my pedal chain.I came across the new Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade. It has cool cosmetics, its lightweight, and a solid cast frame that gives it a sturdy feel. The price tag is friendly, too. However, when I plugged in both units and powered my amps on, I heard a noticeable buzzing on the silent channel. When I switched over, I had the loud hum on the other channel. This shouldn't happen. I would suggest stepping up to a whirlwind.Great idea, good price, and nice, compact size, but doesn't deliver on performance. Will be sending mine back.

.I'm using this to switch a keyboard from clean amp channel to a channel with a rotator device for the organ sound. The device switches easily with no hum or infringement of the sound.
Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade Channel Selector Footswitch
.I got this because i wanted to be able to have delay continuing looping old sounds without adding more. It does that fine, no buzz or anything, it's completely passive, requiring no power. However, it does cause an audible click in your amp when you switch between channels. But for the price, gets the job done.
Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade Channel Selector Footswitch
.If you are looking to switch between amps, -like I do- don't buy this pedal. It is too much of a simple pedal, it won't help you with the noise created by ground loops in regular outlets and it doesn't have a both or Y button. It's a cheap unit if you want to use for other things and it has a solid metal box. It didn't work for me
Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade Channel Selector Footswitch
.This is a great little box and made for gigging or studio. You don't need a battery or ac adaptor for it to work because it's passive. Check it out on electro harmonix's website. I loop samples a lot and this helps me work between my two twin reverbs.
Electro-Harmonix Nano Switchblade Channel Selector Footswitch
.this is a good switch. There is some bleed through but only at really high volumes but its negligible. It has no batteries or power and no popping when switching between amps. For the price it works great. its lightweight and its tough. not sure how it would work for pedal loops but for my use its perfect.
