Reverb choices are great. The Tremelo isn't bad. I can't really rate the pitch effect as I never have cared for that effect, although the fact it doesn't have an octave is odd.
The problems: NO CLEAN. Even on the clean setting--and especially the more you turn it up--you get added gain. I would like to be able to use just CLEAN REVERB w/no added anything else--can't do it with this pedal.
NOISY. Jeez, this is the noisest pedal I've EVER played through!
HUGE volume difference between the different gain settings. This is simply poor engineering/design.
This is odd... when set on Clean, with the pedal volume MAXED out... the overall volume is actually LOWERED when you engage the pedal! Seriously?
Sorry, can't recommend this pedal for anything other than a gimmick (reverb plus fuzz or drive can be an interesting effect, but the noise drove me crazy).

.Let me just start by saying, I am huge Electro Harmonix guy, I respect them as a company and think they make some wonderful effect pedals. I currently use this pedal on my board along with the Big Muff and the Holy Grail Plus. But sadly this pedal, "The Holy Stain", has been reduced to a half-way decent Tremolo pedal, when it could be so much more.This pedal is missing one, possibly two key features which is stopping it from being totally bad ass. The most important being a true-clean switch, which would inhibit the secondary tonal effects; tone, color, and dirt, from always being engaged. I find myself very frustrated trying to set the tone and color knob to a place that doesn't drastically change my input signal. If there was a way to switch to a straight clean signal I could make affective use out of both reverbs, pitch shift, and Tremolo, when I don't want to change my tone or level of distortion. Better yet, if there was another mix knob for the tonal effects like there is with the reverb effects so that you could mix in the amount of fuzz/overdrive and tone you wish to use, that would be fantastic. I get it, this is a multi-effect pedal and the point is to be able to use the distortion with the reverb/tremolo with one stomp. But why does the overdrive and fuzz have to be either engaged to a preset level or off completely? The way the Fuzz is preset is utterly useless to me since the gain is so high it does nothing but give me insane feedback. I'd like to have another fuzz or overdriven distortion for certain things, but it looks like I'm just going to have to buy another pedal because I really can't use the ones on this pedal in their current state. ...Basically The Holy Stain is kind of lame, which is really disappointing because it has the potential to be pretty amazing.

.By far the worst electro harmonix pedal, and one of the worst pedals I have ever used in my effect chain. I expected more and was really let down. the fuzz is ok...I guess. All the other effects are terrible. I would not recomend this pedal to anyone.

.This is my favorite pedal. It's a solid 10 to me. I primarily play a California made Fender Tele and a Gibson Melody Maker with dual single pick-ups through a Fender bassman. Both sound amazing with the effects on this box. My semi-hollow body Washburn HB30 sounds simply incredible with the Hall Reverb. When I go out and play with friends, I take only this pedal with me. It's that good.
The variety of reverb alone make this worth the money. If you like to play with grit and make it dirty this pedal has a lot to offer. I can add just enough color with slight fuzz and overdrive. If you are looking for a pedal to use with a class A tube amp and don't want to mess with a bunch of effects and multiple pedals, this is the perfect pedal.
Electro harmonix quality is the absolute best. You don't have to worry about a thing. It's USA made, need I say more.

.Maybe I misread the box. I thought that the box would allow 'multiple' effects at the same time. I read wrong. However, I can't complain, the effects are sweet!. I wish the pitch went up 1 more, and that you could combine the reverb with the tremelo, the tremelo with the pitch, etc. You can't, I misread the box. my bad.

.A very special Christmas Present this year, I do absolutley LOVE this pedal! Use it on my board, and use it a lot. Overall you would be stupid not to have one! I will buy a dead crybaby to make an expression pedal for this thing too!The only thing I have to complain about, is with te DIRT feature, I wish their could be a switch like with the effects, that lets you choose by foot what DIRT you are going to use. Other than that, it is a home run out of the park for me!

.Upon buying it and bringing it home, I realized that there were some things wrong with it. First off- after about 10 minutes of playing, the dsp effects switch from room, hall, pitch shift, and tremelo was getting stuck between 3 and 4 (pitch and trem). It would only bounce back between the two, and I'd have to pull the power adapter to reset it, then it would do the same thing again. It's a defective pedal I'm sure.Another thing, why in the world would they put distortion in a reverb pedal?? The ideas seems like overkill on the multi effects mix. The clean channel is 25% as loud as the fuzz and OD settings.Overall, I've decided to return this pedal and get the Line6 Verbzilla, sounds better and is more flexible with the one thing I wanted..reverb.

.Just got it an hour ago .Plugged it in and away it went into sonic heaven . Great verb ! It could have a little better "Drive" to it but, For what I need it for, it's just fine . I use 3 other EH pedals with it . Now I'll have to see where in the "chain" it works best . Nice unit . Strong , well built like the others . EH makes some nice products for sure . .I got this wanting a nice, but cheap reverb unit because I'm a budget. This thing is absolutely amazing! It can give you a small echo, a drowned-out sound, or make your sound so big. The reverbs are amazing. Tremolo is SICK! (go from small and wavy to hypnotic) The Pitch-Shift could better, it's tracking is a bit off but it works with some delay. The distortions are pretty great, only thing is i do not use them. You have to try this out, then BUY IT!

.This pedal is amazing for the price! You can get tones of tones/sounds out of this thing! Both the reverb sounds are warm and natural, the pitch shift is really good too, add the fuzz and you got some great sounds! The tremolo is just what you would expect. Get this before they raise the price!
