I got this thing out of the box, and i was impressed with the size, its a nice compact overdrive pedal. Up until now i have been using a boss DS-1 for all my overdrive/distortion sounds. Not a bad setup, but not overly versitile, especially since i have been expanding out and doing more classic rock, blues, southern rock, etc. I plugged my Les Paul into it, and I got that sweet overdrive at about 12 o clock on the gain knob. Turn the gain down, and this thing makes for a wonderful clean boost! What this will not do well is the really high gain-y stuff. Gain fully cranked, you're looking at a tone similar to funk 49, as far as gain is concerned. This pedal is dynamic, articulate, every not of the chord rings out. It is a great addition to any collection!

.I bought this pedal because it was priced very cheaply in comparison to other OD pedals, and I love EHX. I had recently bought a Mooer Green Mile and owned a OCD Fulltone when I got my East River Drive. So I lined them up and to great disbelief and awe, the EAST River Drive is the best. It growls with tone and darkness with my fender 70s Precision and gives a sinister undercurrent to my Rick 330. This pedal isn't about versatility. It's about being the best at what it does. You won't regret it

.I honestly don't know what to say other than WOW. It's such a simple little pedal and makes my tone shine. I use it as a slight overdrive on my clean channel and it sores. Very good tone.

.Great Tubescreamer. EHX knocked this out of the park.
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.I loved this pedal the first time I heard it ( youTube). its like a tubescreamer on steroids. just MORE of a sweet or biting overdrive sound. I like that pick attack can bring out that nice breakup. Plays well with humbuckers and single coils. Character changes a bit with each. Cant beat the price either. A great sound at half the price of most pedals! I really love that about the East River Drive.
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.If you're looking for a classic overdrive pedal for Blues, Rock, Alternative, & Grunge (not Metal), this is the pedal for you! The quality of the overdrive is fantastic and it delivers a smooth, sweet sound!
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.So when I bought this a couple weeks ago I had no idea it was brand new. I tested this side by side with the ibenz tubescreamer and this thing owns. The tube screamer really needed to be cranked to get the slight break up I wanted which made the amp to loud to just sit and jam on. This guy broke up the amp quicker and quieter. Ive been searching for a overdrive for a long time and I finally found it. It can just be a little girtty or you can get some rather heavy sounds out of this guy. Great pedal and great price!
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.Is a great overdrive' it does what it should' you really can't get anything better in this price range. And its made in the usa.
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.Electro-Harmoics makes some of the best pedals and this is no exception. But as a overdrive pedal its laking. It could use a bit more range in gain, and the volume can become quite sensitive after 2 o'clock. But I love the tone feature. It feels very natural, like an extension of your guitars tone knob. Over all, for the price its a good pedal to have, but comparing it to a Tube Screamer is unfair.
Electro-Harmonix East River Drive Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal
.My BigMuff~Pi is now officially jealous!
The East River Drive OD ENHANCES the true sound of my Strat, it does not diminish the nice fat Strat sound!!!
