I gave it a generous 3 overall. If they Weren't willing to fix my pedal they would of got a 1, but if you want a flanger I would look somewhere else. You wouldn't want this cutting out on you in a live setting would you? Don't believe the hype about American made yada yada anyone else is crap stuff. Its all the same. Some outsourced products are good some are not. Some USA made stuff is good some are not.
3 buttons. cool how it has chorus and flanger mixed in one pedal. Wish it had a volume button because it kinda clips at times.
The quality of this pedal is complete crap. When I first picked it up it felt almost fake, but I looked past that and plugged it in using the supplied power source. Worked exactly 29 days and then the other day I turned it on and my amp sounded like it was going to explode with all the messed up noises it was making. So I turned it back off and it bypassed the signal and nothing. Everything was fine again. I turn the pedal on and all heck broke loose. Also note that I plugged this pedal in once and it did not move since it was plugged in so its impossible for it to of messed up a jack because neither the stereo or mono jacks work. As for the pedals sound itself, its alright, its a tone robber, which you shouldnt expect from such an expensive pedal. I'm starting to lose faith in my USA made guitar equipment. All these companies brag about not outsourcing and that their products are not chinsy but I've had more American made pedals and what not just go for no reason at all. Its sad, when all is said and done. If I could go back I would of went with some other company. Also note their warranty . You have to pay for return shipping! To and from plus insurance and confirmation. So you have to pay extra with insurance for them to fix their mistake and its only one year.
Nowhere worth it. Regarding the craftsmanship, whoevers putting their pedals together is slacking. Either that or they're cutting corners on quality parts to save money.

.I picked this up used a few months ago. It was like new in the box for about half price so i got it. Its the best pedal ever! Coming from a guy who HATES pedals, thats saying alot. I have never found a pedal thats as quite as this and actually has effects that i can use.Any chorus/flanger sound you want is in this box. Ive owned all kinds of pedals and processors from Boss and Digitech and this is the only one i havent wanted to get rid of.

. I could use a little more control, stereo ins, and a quieter switching mechanism, but the sounds this pedal puts out of the speakers are just mind blowing. The modulations have a liquid shimmer and slither that I have not found on any of the above mentioned competition. In stereo, the two sides swell and slush into each other seamlessly and hypnotically. It's truly sweet.
The Electric Mistress Flanger has long been on the wishlist of many a gear hound. This updated version has stereo outs (but a mono in) and adds the popular "Clone" chorus circuit to the already watery, swooshy flanger and the two can be used together to create lush, trippy, stereo cascades.
This is a superb sounding pedal and if you add reverb and or delay, you have got some positivley halluciogenic soundscapes on your hands. There is no control knob for the feedback, but it's preset nicely. With the rate turned high, you can get a warbly, rotary wah sound, and you can experiment with the flanger and chorus depth knobs from there, going from thru zero jet flanging sounds all the way to "Andy Summers of The Police" chorus washes. The Filter Matrix mode is engaged by turning the rate knob below ten o'clock, and gives you a unique, frozen wah type of sound.
This flanger sounds better than the Boss Flanger, Line 6 Liqua Flange, MXR Flanger, and ADA Flanger, and I've tried them all personally. It's at its best and most sexy in stereo.
Tough, metal chassis as used on many other EHX pedals. It includes a power adapter, but a 1Spot powers it just fine. the switch is the metal "click" type, and while heavy duty, its not silent switching.
The pedal does not appear to be true bypass, but it didnt affect my tone at all being slapped in the middle of a 7 pedal chain.
This is a fair price....you are really getting 2 stereo effects in one pedal. Not bad.

.Well I'll keep this short. I bought this pedal to give my band some unique sounds. I got those and so much more from this incredible product! I play with a Gibson SG through a Peavey Windsor. One of my favorite things about this box is that it is virtually noiseless when on. The Flange alone is neat but not great. However, the chorus sounds incredible. And when combined with a nice touch of flange, it produces beautiful clean sounds. Even with distortion, this little box cleans up. Definately worth the price tag. Bottom line--- If you want beauiful clean arpeggios and radical lead swoops, this is the box for you. Electric Mistress.

.The flanger and the chorus built in together was the selling point for me. Also wanted to get that classic Andy Summers tone from the 80's. It is that sound. It does color the tone a bit but that's what I was looking for. It's rather versatile. It has a different flavor then the Boss products. Warm and thick. Great price point. Great pedal.
Electro-Harmonix XO Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger / Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal
.While the stereo Electric Mistress was always my first choice when I decided to get a flanger pedal it was still hard to decide between this and the Ibanez AF2 "airplane" flanger. (based on video demos the Ibanez could get virtually the same sounds but the maiin attraction to that pedal was the "Take-off" mode)

A late comer to my line-up of choices was the Hartman flanger. But, I learned that was based on the original analog (and mono) Electric Mistress. So it was easier to drop that one as a choice (though I liked that it had internal trem controls to further contour the sound).

However, no matter how many reviews and video demos I looked at for the others I kept coming back to the stereo Mistress. Largely because I am familiar with the quality of EHX pedals and also I knew it would get the particular sound I was after. Also it was less expensive than the others (especially after I had it price matched to another site).

First the good: This will get those nice "jet plane" swooshing sounds and has minimal countrols making it easier to dear with when trying to get your specific sound.

The bad: I wish it could be used with an expression pedal when using the :filter matrix" as you get the best effects from the filter matrix when scolling the knob through the full range of the effact. (this is also a complaint I have with the Ibanez flanger as the "Take-Off" mode would be more useful if you could sweep through the range of that pedal's speed control with an expression pedal).

In the end it was three things that helped me make my final decision; 1- I am familiar with the quality of Electro-Harmonix pedal and it's cool that they are made right here in the United States.
2-I like the idea that it is stereo which could be cool for recording
3- It was the least expensive of the pedals I was considering which went a long way in forming my decision since all of my choices could achieve the same basic sounds (with slight variations of course).

The bottom line is that this is a quality pedal that has good sounds.

The only reason I gave this 4 rather than 5 stars is that it would be nice to have the ability to sweep through the range of the Filter Matrix with an expression pedal. Otherwise this pedal is a 5.

.After opening the box and plugging it in to my effects chain, I was immediately struck by the vibrant sparkle and the spacey swoosh that makes the flanger so popular. The chorus is a bit more subtle but when you bring it up in the mix, it puts the Small Clone to shame. The Filter Matrix gives some "creative tones" by freezing the sweep of the pedal. With a delay (preferably the EHX #1 Echo) the pedal really takes off. Your guitar swims through nebulae and dives through wormholes. This pedal makes you think your high (especially with the trippy light that sweeps from green to yellow to red in relation to the rate of the pedal). If you want a cookie-cutter flanger, go get a Boss or an MXR; if you want something totally unique, pick up the Electric Mistress.

.Very, very cool effect! I am normally not a flanger guy, but this totally nails the Police/Floyd tones. I cannot vouch for how it compares to a deluxe, but this thing sounds great, very organic and not digital at all. The filter matrix mode is a fantastic color while soloing. The chorus is equally as fun. The chorus is very nice as well. A fantastic addition to my pedalboard.
Electro-Harmonix XO Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger / Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal
.I was absolutely amazed by the sound of this little pedal. First impressions were outstanding - great flange tone and chorus. I pumped my BD-2 into this and wow... It was sounding like some serious Hendrix Fuzz face. I have my setup as follows. Strat into >Boss BD-2>EHX Stereo Electric Mistress>Tech 21 R.V.B.>Jet City 20W Tube Head>Marshall 1960a Slant 4x12 Cab. All-in-all this pedal is amazing and I would recommend to friends.
Electro-Harmonix XO Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger / Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal
.I got this pedal last month and couldn't wait to try it out. I love the chorus, it has a great sound. I play a MM Sterling with an Ashdown amp.It sounds great in the effects loop or in front of the amp.It sounds great thru my Ampeg also! The flanger has a great classic flange sound that you can send over the top with the Filter Matrix. I freeze the Matrix when I use the flange.
