The Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH Power Tube is modeled after the vintage RCA 6L6GC "blackplate." Features large plate dimensions and improved grid structure for increased power handling capabilities. Also features mica spacers with metal springs to eliminate tube rattle and microphonics. The 6L6EH offers tone and performance superior to any other 6L6 or KT66 type.
These are Electro-Harmonix 6L6EHs in platinum matched sets. Their platinum matching process consists of a 24-hour tube burn-in period followed by a bias (plate) current measurement in milliamps.

I was on my way to a gig and as I was driving I hit a very sharp speed bump and my amp(fender HRD) fell backwards onto my pedals board and it shattered the tubes. Luckily, a friend pointed out that there was a music store near by. I quickly drove there but when I arrived I couldn't find the tubes I usually use. I saw these tubes and they were about the same in price so I tried them. I arrive at the gig and I stick em' in and start sound check. The amp warms up and is ready to go and I'm not expecting much because these were last minute tubes, but then I played that first chord the angels sang. These tubes have amazing clarity and punch to them. All my band mates couldn't believe how much different it sounded. 5 years later I still use them and don't plan to change anytime soon =).

.I had a tube burn out in my amp and i was freaking out because it happend 3 days before a gig so i went and talked to my dude at a local music store and he told me that he had been using these for years and that he liked them better than the ruby tubes that i was using. I totally see why he likes these better, because im sold on them as well. My amp had more defanition, clarity, punch, and presence. My band playes in A# and we played after i got the new tubes and that was the first time that i was ever able to hear myself on stage and i got a lot of compliments that people noticed a good difference in my sound and i noticed it. These are awesome sounding tubes.

.I have been using these EH 6L6's in my vintage Fender Super reverb amps (1965 and 1969)and my newer 1965 reissue super reverb and Hot Rod Deville for about 3 years. They have great tone and really do sound very similar to a NOS RCA 6L6 set! I have several vintage used and NOS RCA 6L6's that I am able to save because of these! They also seem to have longer life than Groove tubes (svetlana, sovtek)and better tone in my opinion. These can hold up to extreme volume punishment. Eat, Sleep, Play repeat

.I will not buy Electroharmonix from Custom Guitars Friend ever again I bought a pair of 6v6s (they dont list EH 6v6s anymore)but I checked them with my Mutual conductance Eico tester and they were way of like 10 percent off from eachother! MF took them back but my question is how do you really know if you getting a good matched set unless you verify?

.I replaced the tubes in my Fender Twin '68 reissue with these. - The amp is now much smoother and has a great clean response. - I gig just about every weekend , and these EH tubes hold up great. - If you are looking for a brighter , cleaner tone , then I highly recommend these.

.Have you ever had that feeling, like when you buy a pair of shoes that you like so much that you want to go right out and buy another pair, just in case they quit making them. I had that feeling here. I've used everything from sovteks to tug sols, wxt,kt66,TDwgc STwgc, TS6l6gc, but these are by far the best tubes I've ever used or herd. From the moment I tuned on my 1987x Marshall Plexi I knew these were something special. Matched within 1%. In the preamp section V1 I put a new telefunken (JJ?), v2 Tung Sol, v3 Sovtek LPS, and with this I've finally reached Tone Nirvana. Electro-Harmonix where have you been all my Life.

.These tube have a clear but mellow voice. The saturation point gives a tighter, less distorted bottom end than the Ruby's I replaced. I replaced all the 12AX7 and 6L6 tubes at the same time.

These medium rated Groove Tube power tubes from Custom Guitars Friend were replacements for the Original Bugera set. I am involved in genres which don't use heavy distortion or piercing hi-end (Jazz, Blues,Bluegrass, Folk, and Folk-Rock). The original tubes sounded very good, but I needed to be monitoring the EQ constantly, I never would have needed the "bright" switch. These new tubes produce a much more balanced tone allowing the HI's to sound great while still having room on EQ to increase Treble or use the "bright" switch. The Mid's are full without being "tinny", and speak of FAT, the lower mids and low's have gained so much fullness I am in awe of how they sound ! The power tubes were not the complete solution but once I got the Amp fully operational, not only did I realize that the original problem might have been a small blessing in disguise (I might not have found these Groove Tubes) I have decided to order a "backup set" of GT 6L6's from Custom Guitars Friend and to stick "like glue" with that choice. If you need a replacement set of 6L6's or are seeking a rich full and a nice FAT sound, without modding to accommodate an EL series tube I highly recommend the Custom Guitars Friend for their Customer Service and these great matched Grove Tube 6L6's (m) for their sound.
