The MIDS EQ allows tonal shaping of the Big Muff distortion like never seen before, the GATE function lends itself to playing the Big Muff in new ways providing blasts of fuzz when you play and silence when you don't, the ATTACK control adds definition to chords and riffs without getting in the way of the Big Muff's original tone, and BASS BOOST brings back some low end when TONE is turned up to its treble settings.

Great tone and very versatile. I don't usually write reviews, but this is pretty frustrating. What is wrong with EHX and their toggle switch? This is the 2nd brand new EHX pedal where the toggle switch malfunctions. Great tone; however, poor quality very frustrating.

.This is the best BMP that I have personally ever played through. Classic NYC BMP sound with an attack knob and a noise gate? Yes please! You can dial in a lot of rich fuzz tones with the left side of the pedal, and make it scream when you use the dedicated MIDS section. Get a nice fuzzy tune going, then solo over it with the mid boost/cut.

.So far this pedal is everything I was hoping for, it's a big m u f f (musicians friend won't let me say the name of a product) all the way but with a mid boost pedal built in. I love everything about it with the exception of the noise gate, honestly it was never a feature I really wanted in the pedal and could take it or leave it from the start but if you do intend to use it you should know that it works against one of the main features of the big m u f f and that's sustain. The gate knob may as well be an on/off switch due to the fact that it either cuts noise or doesn't, there is no in between and its a really hard cut. With the sustain all the way up the gate will 100% of the time cut a sustained note long before you desired the note to end. It's flat out a terrible, useless feature and easily cured with a real gate/noise suppressor. Aside from that everything else about this pedal is top notch, with an expression pedal you can even simulate a cool fuzz wah using the mid boost, cranking the mids to full and the freq to around half. Honestly great distortion, just ignore the gate.
