Authentic 1958 or 1959 Tweed Hard Case for a Fender Stratocaster, Telecaster, or Esquire. As you can see in the photos, this case is worn, but still functional. All hardware appears to be original. All latches are functional, however, the springs are not working on the two locking latches – you have to pull them up by hand. I do not have a key to the locks. There are three hinges on the rear - all are functional, but on one hinge the top two nails are loose. I’m sure this is an easy fix, but will leave that to the next owner. The tweed and leather on the exterior are in fair condition – frayed and stained in a few places, but for the most part intact. The handle is in good functional order. The case is still structurally sound.
The interior golden orange plush lining is in pretty good shape considering its age. The padding and lining is all there, but it is ripped and falling apart on the bottom end where the guitar bottom strap button rubs, and also in a spot on the side pocket. There are also a few other places where it is frayed. The side pocket is intact and functional. The interior is a little musty smelling but nothing overpowering. This case will make a fine home for your 1958/1959 Strat, Tele, or Esquire. When you walk into a room carrying this case, heads turn!
