Very cool, desirable modern day tube amp with a classy look and the best tube combination IMO. This is an all tube amplifier, with two EL34 tubes in the power stage. It even has a tube rectifier, so this model is all valve in its' sound. While the EL34 can generate over 50 watts in this combination, these are optimized for clarity, only putting out 9 watts (per channel) of the cleanest sound imaginable with stellar recovery time and nearly perfectly uniform tone. While the RMS rating is 9 watts (per channel), you'll think you're hearing 50 watts with the amazing tone and punch and peak level power that approaches 50 watts total...! That's the beauty of these classic tube hi-fi's… when done right, they easily best any solid state amp made. The two preamp tubes provide a whisper quiet first preamp stage that will accept an line level input, but ideally you would run this in tandem with a suitable preamp… thought this sounds amazing as-is with a component plugged directly in, perfectly balanced in eq and tone right out of the box!
You can also use this exceptional setup as a super clean guitar amp, for use with acoustic or electric rigs… I use very advanced processing and this amp sounds amazing! If you get your guitar tone from processing and have a great studio quality sound anyway, you might as well use an amp that can reproduced the nuanced tones you get in the studio, in a live format. Acoustic guitar plugged directly into the unit is something sublime!
This is in nice condition with chrome chassis and black brushed aluminum face, ceramic tube holders, gold plated speaker connections that work with banana plugs or bare wire. Standard three prong removable power cord and Sovtec preamp tubes (2 12AX7) and J/J GA 34 rectifier tube and EL34 power tubes. It's an amazing power amp and sounds like a dream! Guaranteed to be among the best amps you've heard!
