Product Description

I picked this up to restore, possibly turn into a fretless, but I never got around to it, and other projects have piled up. The only missing piece from what I can tell is the pick-guard. The stickers on the front will come right off.

From what I have gathered, it was made in Japan by Ibanez in the late 60's. At some point I found a magazine ad with the same bass right down to the truss rod cover from around 1965. The neck plate is stamped MIJ. There are Japanese characters on the neck that a Japanese friend told me says the Matsumoko family name. I can't say this bass is up to the same level of craftmanship as most Matsumoko guitars I've seen, but is a solid project for someone nonetheless.

The bass will ship in it's current disassembled state without the case to save on shipping costs. The case is damaged anyway. If you really want the case for some reason, let me know and we can work something out.
