I'm very disappointed as I was waiting for this black pearloid pickguard to put on my brand new 2009 American Strat HSS bought off here in October 09. The bummer is that I had my whole guitar apart ready to bolt this on when UPS arrived. I first noticed that they refuse to provide the bridge humbucker mount holes. You have to drill them out. Next, This WILL NOT fit the new 2009s. The new strats have HSH routing and the middle position on this new pickguard will not line up with the center pickup. The slot for the middle pickup on this item is about 1/2-3/4" too far up toward the neck pickup. All the bolts align perfectly all around, other than you'd need to route the wood on the body to make this work since the middle pickup slot on this guard is in the WRONG position.Don't' buy if you have the new american standard. I have an email in to Fender to address this fit. I still want the thing on my guitar.

.They're not telling the part where the center pu slot is far enough out of line with original that further routing of pickup cavity is required.

.Had this pickguard put on my black Fender Squire Fat Strat,and it looks amazing! All of my friends tell me how cool my guitar looks. This one is definitely the one to buy!

.Got this for my Starcaster Strat which I bought on a whim. NICE GUITAR! It's black and came with a white pick guard. I figured a black pearl would look groovy. IT DOES! Only one of the outer mounting holes didn't line up but it was an easy fix using the original pick guard as a template. One other writer also commented on the mounting holes by the bridge pick up. Yeah, I had to drill those too using the original pick guard as a template. Another easy fix. Overall, the few minutes of time was well worth it. It makes the Guitar look as impressive as it sounds!

.I bought this pickguard for my Squier Fat Strat which was black with a white pickguard. This makes a very nice guitar. Please note that this is note for the faint at heart when working on your guitar. The holes did not line up and the fit was to close to the bridge. With a little work, the pickguard fit very well. The holes also needed to be counter sunk for the screws to look right. Again, if you are willing to work with the plastic, you will end up with a very nice upgrade to your Squier Bullet Fat Strat.
