Product Description

High-quality solid brass string nut helps open notes sound more like fretted notes. Designed for guitars with modern 9.5" radius fingerboards. Pre-slotted with string location grooves to make spacing and positioning a breeze when performing the final string slot filing. Please note: Some filing and shaping modification is required to ensure proper fit and performance. 9.5" (241mm) top and bottom radius, 1.620 (41.15mm) wide.

Fender part number 007-3916-000 1-5/8" x 3/16" x 1/8" Slightly curved for 9.5" radius Pre-slotted Solid brass Fits most Strat and Tele guitars Please check dimensions before ordering

Given the fact that fender neck width varies- on this nut, the string slots are not accurately spaced. The low E is too wide. And why is the entire nut too narrow for the neck width, leaving space in the slot at both ends? In this lousy economy with companies cutting costs, we are starting to see some major quality issues. The inaccurate dimensions of things like this is an example. I ordered a similar brass nut where the high E was too wide. One would think that with modern CNC machinery that they could get the string spacing accurate and get the overall width more accurate than several 32ds at each end short. I'm now giving up on precut brass for good. I have not found any accurate precut nut, and I really don't want to cut my own and have to buy more expensive tools. I'm just going to give up and buy a custom made or a whole guitar, I guess. These inaccurate nuts are of no use at all.

This item is pre slotted with correct spacing and the grooves are perfect for extra light strings.

You will not only have increased sustain, all open strings will sound the same as a fretted note.
It's not for everybody, but I like it.
Fender Stratocaster/Telecaster Pre-Slotted Brass String Nut
.I bought this for a 2011 American Standard Strat I have, to replace the stock bone nut. A quick comparison between the two obviously revealed that this nut is significantly shorter than the stock one. It's at least 1/16" too short on each side. Here's the kicker.... I also have a 2005 American Fender Yngwie signature Strat and this nut is shorter than the brass nut on it too! I thought this nut was a direct replacement for the Yngwie Strat....? Either way, it was a complete waste of money as I can not use it all all. If they had made it too long, I could have filed it down to fit, but I can't add material to it. The spring spacings are exactly the same as both Strats, it's just the length that's way too short.
