i replaced the pick ups in my 2013 American p bass with the custom shop 62s and I cant believe how close they sound to my original 59 p basses.this bass has become my main practice bass after these upgrades and will probably end up a main stage bass.i wish fender would make these standard in their new basses and I would not mind paying so much.

As an experienced musician, I had a sound in my head from many years ago, and was unhappy with the bass sound I had. I'd recently been playing in a heavy rock band and was using SeymoureDuncan's quarter pounder's which were fine for that job. Now I'm in a band playing everything from old timey blues, through classic rock to contemparary rock. The quarter pounders were just to thick. I tried several P bass replacement pickups to no avail, until I tried these custom shop 62's...... this was the sound I had in my head, just like my first early 60's bass. Yes, I was around then! Get some, you won't regret it

Very good sound. I replaced the pickups in my Mexican precision and it sounds better than my American precision! Well worth the investment, very easy to install.
Fender Custom Shop '62 P Bass Pickups
.These pickups made a huge increase in tone. It helped volume also, but tone alone makes them well worth the investment. Easy installation also.
