.I bought these to upgrade my Squier Hot Rails Stratocaster. The stock tuners would go out after any type of pull from the tremolo. First I trick replacing the nut with a graphite one. It helped, but still would get out of tune. With these new tuners guitar stays in tune much better. The mounting holes for these tuners did not line up with the Squier's. Had to drill new holes, but these tuners covered up the old Squier tuner holes.
I plan on buying another set of these tuners to upgrade my Squier 51.

.I used these to replace the tuners on my strat mini. I had to drill larger holes for them to fit. Seems they need a hole of 13/32". I used a 3/8" drill bit and wiggled it around and it worked just fine. The keys turn smoothly and keep everything in tune nicely. The weather has been crazy here but the next day after tuning my guitar is only slightly out of tune. Big upgrade from the stock tuners which were creaky and didn't stay in tune as well. Your guitar will sound better when it's perfectly in tune. And these are a cheap way to improve your guitar. Get em.

.Really nice tuning machines, drop-in replacements on my '02 MIM Strat, and provides very stable tuning with staggered height posts. Custom Guitar's Friend gottem to me in a couple days. I didn't see any need for locking tuners if you put strings on correctly.
