I ordered 1 back in November and 1 2 weeks ago. When I received the 1st neck, it had dings on the headstock, (Custom Guitars friend gave me a discount), and I didn't like the color finish on the neck, but I thought all of the replacement necks would have the same finish, so I kept it. When I received the 2nd neck, it didn't have any dings but did have the stain that more matched the picture on their website. My advice if you order a replacement neck, be aware that the stains on the necks vary greatly from light to dark.
Other than that, these are excellent replacement necks!

.This neck was purchased to replace the original neck on my Fender Precision bass as the original necks truss rod adjusting rod had a partially stripped adjusting hex socket and the original neck could not be adjusted properly. The new neck had very smooth fret ends and I like how the front of the headstock had a nice gloss finish and the rest of the neck had a very smooth satin finish on it. The neck mounting holes were aligned perfectly to match the original Fender body.

.The neck is very nice and the frets are nicely dressed ... two issues, though. The nut had "starter" grooves notched in it. The problem was that it was a sloppy job ... the spacing was uneven and the notch for the G-string was filed into the radius at the high end of the nut. That had the string right on the edge of the fret board. Fortunately, I stock extra Fender nuts at home and replaced it with a GOOD one. The original nut was not difficult to remove.
The rosewood between the 13th and 14th frets was a bit rougher finish than the rest of the fret board. Not a major issue, but someone must have been in a hurry.
Keep in mind that you will have to purchase a string tree and mount it. As well, tuning machines.
All-in-all, the neck is great. No shimming was necessary and no problem with the Fender tuning machines. I set it up very nicely and it is truly consistent playing-wise.
For the money, it is a great deal.
