For modern guitarists who want heavy and aggressive tone, the Standard Jazzmaster HH is an unusual take on the classic Fender model, delivering massive high-gain power and a whole new sonic personality from two Blacktop open-coil humbucking pickups with chrome/black bobbins and black bezels.
Sleek and supercharged, it's built to match the intensity of any playing style, with other distinctive features including a coil-splitting push-pull switch built into the tone knob that leaves the outside coils active, a Jazzmaster floating tremolo bridge, and a lean control layout.

With modern refinements like quality tuners, big frets, flat fingerboard radius, 1 pickup selector, 1 each of tone and volume, a splitter switch to give you a single coil mode, and grooved saddles..all the problems you would have performing with a jazzmaster are addressed and remedied...I play surf with this guitar and it sounds great...it can rock, play jazz, blues, shoegaze..whatever, just as well...tremolo is smooth and stays in tune for surf...very pleased with this guitar....only thing I wish they kept was the tremolo lock

.I bought this as a level 3 for a great price. To my surprise its in perfect shape. The only reason I can figure for it being returned before was the setup was horrific..truss rod, saddles, bridge and intonation were all insanely far off (like someone messed with it without the right knowledge) that gave me some concern but after a thorough inspection (mainly checking neck integrity) it turned out there was nothing wrong that a careful setup couldnt cure (not a big deal.. I always end up making adjustments on my guitars anyways)
now it plays great. I was able to get the action lower than i even like before thete were any buzzing issues. The bridge has been problem free for me (and i play hard.) tuning is rock solid. I upgraded to locking tuners (cause i had some, not bc of any issues)
As for sound.. It sounds great! Definitely has those "behind the bridge overtones." its A very versatile guitar with the humbuckers and split switch. Its got a real full heavy sound but can also get a little strat-y. I have an american standard strat and without exaggerating i can say its not really much nicer than this.
If you're considering this i would say go for it.. It sounds and plays great (and if u don't like it mf is awesome about returns/exchanges)
