An eye-catchingly adventurous design—an exquisite exercise in chrome, plastic and wood—the Jaguar guitar’s delightfully off-kilter aesthetics and unique sound made it a darling of underground artists from the ‘70s to today. Though it was the pinnacle of guitar technology when it was released in 1962, time (and technology) marches on so Fender updated the Jaguar with modern features and materials, hot-rodding it for today’s players. The result? The American Professional Jaguar—a dangerous instrument with bite.
Developed by Michael Frank, the brand-new V-Mod Jaguar pickup design expands the guitar’s sonic palette with hot, vintage-informed tone delivering plenty of midrange punch and definition. Retain high end clarity when adjusting the volume control, thanks to the new treble-bleed tone circuit that lets your tone shine through in all its glory.
The new modern “Deep C”-shaped neck profile feels just right in your hand while the narrow-tall frets make it easy to bend strings accurately and play perfectly intonated chords. The improved tremolo and bridge incorporate a screw-in arm and brass Mustang saddles that stabilize the strings while adding a touch of sonic zip to your tone.
The best of yesterday and today, the American Professional Jaguar is the latest form of electric inspiration from Fender. Step up and stake your claim to a legend. Includes hardshell case.

If you have been waiting for a modern Jag without the limitations of the odd options like the Pawn Shop series (I own a jaguarillo that I do like) this is your guitar.
This is not a guitar for the vintage market and there have been dozens of reissues and lower cost options for that market for a long time. Including the MIJ, AVRI etc..
What has been missing from Fenders line is a modern Jag which leaves the worst of yesterday behind and offers many upgrades that lots of buyers were doing to their guitars anyway.
The new pickups are hotter than vintage while staying articulate and the 4 way selector switch and phase switch are far easier to use and have a really broad sonic pallet to select from. The pickups maintain their character even with drive when most of the other options typically either were very vintage or would become fizzy pretty quickly. The addition of the treble bleed circuit makes it easy to run dirty to clean with just using the volume when most of the previous offerings would become muddy once you rolled the volume back.
The new frets and matte finish make this guitar a breeze to play. The new native 9.5" mustang style bridge works great and I actually re-installed it after making the default masterybridge upgrade that I always seem to have to do.
While this guitar may not fit in with the pure historical market it is a good option for those who want the sound without the quirks. While it is still a Jag and may not be as perfect as some people expect this is the guitar I always wanted Fender to produce. If someone offered me a mint NOS vintage Jag in trade with the restriction that I couldn't sell the guitar and buy another Professional version I wouldn't take it.
While the Strat lovers in the world have had dozens of options for decades us short scale offset single coil fans finally have an option.
Thank you Fender, this will be my main guitar for years

.I would buy one of these if it had the original switch configuration. I owned a 1965 Jag and miss it dearly. This would almost fill the bill for my nostalgia, but the re-design of the switches and rhythm circuit have me waiting for a more authentic reproduction.
