Product Description

Externally the American Elite Stratocaster has Fender’s timeless style, but under the hood it’s an entirely new breed of guitar designed for 21st-century players who constantly push the envelope. With over a dozen new innovations, each guitar is a true performer with eye-catching style, exceptional feel and versatile sound from the very first moment you plug it in and play.

• Double cutaway electric guitar
• Three all-new fourth generation Noiseless single-coil Stratocaster pickups
• S-1 switching for even more tonal versatility
• Compound profile neck; redesigned contoured neck heel
• 9.5-14 in. compound radius fingerboard
• Locking short-post tuning machines; speedy soft-touch control knobs
• Includes redesigned ABS Elite Molded Case with TSA locks

All-new American elite neck and neck heel
Designed for 21st-century players, the American Elite Series sports a new compound neck profile designed for comfort and the ultimate playability. A modern "C"-shape at the nut, the rear of the neck morphs along the length of the neck to a modern "D"-shaped profile at the updated neck heel that blends into the asymmetrical neck volute, providing plenty of ergonomic support and comfortably enhanced playing feel.

All-new 4th generation Noiseless pickups
With the all-new 4th generation Noiseless pickups, exclusive to the American Elite Series, we’ve achieved the sonic equivalent of cold fusion—authentic vintage-style Fender sound combined with noise-free performance. A quantum leap in pickup technology, these bleeding-edge pickups are the pinnacle of our pickup designs, offering crisp, clear cleans as well as gigantic overdriven tones that are bursting with pure rock power.

New double action truss rod adjustment wheel
The new double action truss rod adjustment wheel makes it a snap to adjust the instrument's neck relief without any special tools.

S-1 switch
The S-1 switch activates alternate wiring options for even more tonal variations. Discreetly placed atop the volume control, it engages or disengages at the tap of a finger for on-the-fly adjustments.

When not in use, the S-1 switch doesn’t affect standard Stratocaster wiring, which is:
Position one: bridge pickup only
Position two: bridge and middle pickups wired in parallel
Position three: middle pickup only
Position four: middle and neck pickups wired in parallel
Position five: neck pickup only

The S-1 switch offers five additional pickup wiring options when engaged:
Position one: all three pickups wired in series
Position two: bridge and middle pickups wired in series
Position three: middle and neck pickups wired in series
Position four: bridge and neck pickups wired out of phase, with a special tone capacitor
Position five: bridge and middle pickups wired in series and out of phase, in parallel with neck pickup

New soft touch knobs
These easy-grip knobs make on-the-fly volume and tone adjustments a breeze.

Locking tuning machines with all short posts
Enjoy lightning-fast, easy re-stringing and enhanced playability from the new locking short-post tuning machines. Not only do they provide increased break angle at the nut, they also increase tuning stability.

One of the best Stratocasters I've ever played. The feel and sound are superb. I wonder how much my other Strats will get played now.

.Just wanted to respond to previous review of one star, i have not played this guitar yet, the information of s1 switch is clearly explained in overview, one star rating is unjustified

.I have wanted a surf Green Strat forever, when I saw this limited edition American Elite in Surf Green Pearl, it got my full attention. First off, the finish is just stunning in person. I opened the case and was blown away. The fit and finish was as perfect, Fender has really upped their game in this department. As for playability, she is just perfect in a lot of ways. I really love the compound radius on the American Elites, glad Fender is finally going down this route. The trem is stable as a Strat trem can be. I've never been a fan of silent single coils, that is until now. I always felt the noiseless pickups never had that true single coil sound. Fender has made a believer out of me with the Generation 4 noiseless pickups. The guitar has a 'true' Strat tone about it. The bridge pickup, in particular, seems to be the most improved. It seems a little more meaty with distortion on while not losing the trademark 'quack' you get with the selector in the #2 position. The pickups, as a whole, seem to just bite a little more than the N3's or SCN's of years past. Articulate with distortion on and very touch-sensitive clean. Great job Fender with the N4's, never thought I would say that! In all, this is a great, well built, Fender Strat with classic looks and tons of mojo. The new cases are most excellent too. Congrats Fender on a great evolution of an American legend.

.Just received this guitar, it sounds as good as it looks. It would have been nice if all the different pickup settings were explained in the overall description of the guitar. But the manual can be easily found. There are 10 different settings, each with a distinct sound. Great setup out of the box. Perhaps a change of strings, and your good to go. And the color, surf pearl, truly a thing of beauty
